Thousands of K-12 schools and districts across 60 countries and 48 states are using Alma's groundbreaking student information system to transform their learning communities. Are you next?
Higher education institutions such as colleges, universities, higher education administration, community or junior colleges, graduate schools, medical and health schools, career, seminaries.
They are absolutely fantastic. Quick, reliable, professional, and very proficient at what they do.
The descriptions are confusing. The filtering is confusing or doesn't work right.
I loved that our district made a deal to get a group purchase for ALMA so it made the price just perfect for us. ALMA looks beautiful and is an excellent tool.
You can pay extra to have them developed/added, but there is no way to do that yourself.
Teachers have more at their finger tips for flexibility with report cards and that makes all of us so happy...actually its terrific to see them so pleased.
There are a bunch of interface elements like this that make interactions awkward or repetitive, which induces frustration and boredom, which leads to errors. It feels like evaluations are 90° off.
The best thing abour Alma is its ease of use. In addition, it has one of the most professional and responsive customer support departments I have ever encountered in any product or industry.
When you have been with company for years is it hard to make a switch.
The ability in J1 to come straight out of the box and be productive is great. We have reduced the amount of customization in our system.
I think Jenzabar can be a confusing if you do not use it often or have to take over a task that someone else has started.
I personally am very familiar with the advising and registration modules. Learning curve can be steep, but it rewards one with access to some impressive versatility.
We had another crash on October 28; this time, we "only" lost about a day's worth of work, and the system was down for two days while the latest backup was restored.
The ability to customize features to meet unique needs is top notch, and their support team is highly responsive.
Some parts of the platform are not yet updated to the modern standards. This makes it difficult to train new users to the platform.
It is a complete platform that has been modernized and rethought to function better in the last few years.
The implementation was tremendously difficult, and I've heard from people at other institutions that it took nearly two years for things to start to go smoothly.
Tom J.: My name is Tom. I am the elementary principal at Kingsway Christian Schools, and we use Alma SIS, and I would rate it a 4 out of 5. Prior to using Alma, we were using Blackboard in our elementary school. For us, Blackboard was a bit clunky and it was difficult to navigate and didn't really make communication smooth when we're trying to communicate between school and our community. We chose Alma because it was user-friendly, it was really easy for our teachers to learn how to use it, how to communicate with families, everything's been organized really well, and their customer service has been very helpful. We decided to bring Alma in a whole year early so we could get used to the functionality, make sure we were really confident before we rolled it out across our campus. That was really seamless. We always had good communications with implementation specialists, and the rollout went really well. I would just recommend that you do your homework, you look at what's out there. For us as an elementary school, the ease of use and being able to communicate really seamlessly is really what we needed and it met our needs. It could be different depending on your school community as well.
