Asite vs Microsoft OneNote: Which is a better fit?

Document management is really good, ability to create our own forms is great. We do like the customization in having what we want o our forms.

Hours lost learning the system and redoing things. I dread to think how much it is costing the Environment Agency to host.

Customer support is always eager to resolve my queries and the responses I get are mostly satisfactory leading to the resolution of issues.

Problems with the control over auto numbering. No capacity to correct errors.

Document control is very good once people are up to speed on the software. The ability to find documents especially on larger projects with numerous participants is very useful to us.

In comparison to other systems I have used (Aconex, Encompass, 4Projects) Asite does not come up as reliable software, due to number of errors and outages occurring. 2 critical outages only this year.

Good powerful filtering and great control of distribution and edit privileges. Dashboard has been added, and workflow tasks helps to identify nee items for your attention with ease.

User interface confusing ' unhelpful. No zoom out so endless scrolling in large spreadsheets.

Implementation is super easy, additional features are great like click anywhere to get started.

Some content lost formatting when being pasted into OneNote. The Table Editing tools lack of essential feature that are available in other office products.

The great thing is that it automatically sends updates to the cloud if you are signed in to your Microsoft account. This makes backing up your work very easy.

This ended in a loss of productivity as it was necessary for me to recollect data and some information was no longer accessible.

OneNote is great and is a huge asset to me for my personal notes and documentation.

However, the thing I disliked the most about this product was that it didn't work with my graphics tablet.

Overall, I would still recommend using OneNote despite the occasional hiccups. It is a very reliable and easy to use note taking and organization software that I would recommend.

Once you build that “universe,” it can become very complicated to navigate. Sometimes I forget how I got to the place I originally set up and it can be frustrating.
