Law firms based in the United States that practice in: Family Law, Personal Injury, Real Estate, Estate Planning, Litigation, Business Sale & Purchase, Employment, Criminal Law, and more.
Solo and small law firms looking for a fully integrated, cloud based practice management system can use the application to manage cases, documents, billing and more.
Training and onboarding are fantastic. Customer Support is on top of things and great to help and give feedback.
Smokeball refuses to refund the unused portion of our license renewal which is approximately 1 year, over $2,000. No one is using the Smokeball licenses and they have not been used for 3 months.
I love that it can generate PDFs from within the program, can generate emails easily,ķ has a section for memos and notes and the communicate app is super helpful.
When it didn’t work for us they refused to cancel or assist me in any way. I was never given a support person to launch the product.
It is super easy to use and combines the best features of most practice management programs that are more expensive.
The downside of this product is that it is not completely cloud based.
The ability to integrate e-mail, Word and Adobe is way better than the program we used to have, and the layout and organization is wonderful.
Some of my clients hae problems utilizing their encryption tools called "communicate" because it requires google Chrome, but most figure it out-- I would use it more if it worked more seemlessly.
The calendaring feature is great. Most of the people we have asked for help with the program have been extremely responsive and helpful.
But it is the worst thing I have ever seen for immigration law. In fact, it is worse that having nothing.
I like the cloud-based technology and the constant updates to improve the software. Additionally, it is very user-friendly and the customer support is great.
It is my style to quietly go away without complaining publicly but this company is terrible.
It is pretty intuitive, and I can find just about everything that I have saved. The Technical Support is great, and I usually have a very short wait to get in to talk with them.
I really dislike the program because it has no email integration. Given that this is Firm Central, not having an email integration is not very "CENTRAL.
I like how it is very user freindly. It is easy to navigate, and customer support is excellent.
Also, even though we are using lots of Westlaw products, the integration with WL wasn't worth the loss of integration with all other platforms. And once you sign the contract, you are stuck with it.
Jenny G.: My name is Jenny. I am a partner at the law firm of Alexander Grossman. And I give Smokeball a rating of 5. Prior to signing on with Smokeball, we did not use any case-management software. We had our own system, which we'd been using for many years, where we had an index in a Word document of all of the Word documents that we had, which were just saved to our desktop and eventually to a server, but we had no way to connect that with clients or client matter. And when Smokeball came along, we were really interested because it made everything that we were previously doing much more streamlined. And what we were doing before really had no way to see all of the documents that we were doing for a particular client or a particular matter for that client. And Smokeball was able to do all of that. We decided to go with Smokeball because at the time, the price was a low introductory price. And it was something that we had not heard of before, just the idea of having all of our documents, all of our emails, all of our case notes and everything for a particular client and a particular matter all in one spot. The onboarding process with Smokeball was really streamlined and straightforward. They have great customer service. We had at least one dedicated person who was working with us on training and implementation. But whenever we had a question, we could call them. And it was really seamless. They came in into our office and set everything up with our scanner, with our printer, with our computer, so that it was all seamless. My advice for anybody considering getting Smokeball is, it's worth it. They have made our day-to-day practice so much simpler. Everything is easy to find in one place. They have great customer service. And something that I'm really impressed with is that we've been with them now for several years, and they're always coming out with new integrations with other programs, either that we've already been using, and it makes it easier for us to use those. One example is our title ordering software. But they're also adding more features to the program, which allow us to discontinue subscriptions to other services that we're paying with. So it's making the Smokeball service itself more economically feasible.
