PrestaShop vs Venmo: Which is a better fit?

Eva: My name is Eva. I work as a digital marketing manager at QAD. We have ERP and Supply Chain Systems. It's a software company from the States. I have, well, experience as digital marketing manager in paid advertising and e-commerce for the past eight years, and I am giving PrestaShop a rating of five stars. WooCommerce with WordPress, it's a plugin for WordPress, and I also used Magento, and I honestly did not like any of those. WooCommerce and with WordPress is really, from my perspective, not a very practical software for e-commerce, and it lacks a lot of important features like back office, order management, and things like that. And inventory management, for instance, is a key aspect for e-commerce companies. And Magento is quite honestly, you cannot even do proper SEO with Magento, and I also missed a lot of main features that I mentioned before. At the time, I was working for a company that wanted to grow very quickly, and in order to scale the business, we needed a software that was really useful, had the main functionalities that we were looking for, and that was able to grow with us, and so that's why we decided for PrestaShop. Initially, we had a web developer help us with the installation, and we also customized PrestaShop for our needs, but it was very, very intuitive to use. I remember setting up all the content for the products that we had. We had a very large product catalog. It was very easy. Also, for SEO was very easy, and we were immediately able to use the main functionalities without training basically. The recommendations that I would give that person is to look for the main functionalities and features that you need for your business to think about the situation that you're currently in. If you want to grow in an accelerated way, you need to look at the software that it helps you with your scaling of the business, and if you don't... And also to think about the fact that you're investing in the future of your business, because what we saw when we used PrestaShop was the fact that we had four times more sales than before, because basically we had more functionalities with the software. We were able to use the software to grow very quickly and to help our customers. So, it was really important for us at that time to use the software, and it helped us a lot, and what I would really always consider is two things, do you want to scale your business? At what point are you in the outlook of your business, and what kind of features do you need?

Felicia T.: Hi, my name is Felicia, and I'm an editorial director at a pretty small company, and I give Venmo a five. So before we started using Venmo, we were cobbling together different solutions in terms of both sending and receiving payments. There is a little old school ... you can still write and receive checks. But there was just some things about the speed and the ease and the delivery that made some of our solutions that we were using prior to Venmo pretty challenging. So some of the reasons we chose to use Venmo include the speed, the ease, the user interface; pretty easy to utilize and to also choose who you are sending and receiving from. You can even send requests for payment through Venmo, which is a feature I really like a lot, and it's pretty easy to see the reports of different transactions. So I found Venmo pretty easy to get started with: low barrier to entry, onboarding was pretty simple. They make it really user-friendly in terms of just figuring out how to choose, how to find people, how to make payments, how to receive payments. There's a little bit of clicking around, which is going to be the case with any kind of new software. But I love the graphics interface. I love the user experience. I've found it pretty easy to onboard both for myself and for other people who are using the app. All right, so here's some advice. If you know that you want to send payments to specific vendors, specific people, specific organizations that you're working with, make sure you know what their name is on Venmo, or what their login or their phone number or whatever it is that you are using to connect with them. So really clearly have that information, because sometimes people's names can sound really similar. And you want to make sure that you're either sending payments to the right person or requesting payments from the right person. So I would say that's the biggest piece of advice: be really clear on the usernames, on that interface, because sometimes names can sound really similar, and you don't want to have to clean up any messes later.
