They blank out and reset going down the road after a couple of years of use. It's incredibly annoying at 2am in the morning and it's flashing bright lights in your face. The main issue with the company is the communication about their products and contract. Once you're signed, the care disappears and they will not respond or help in any way! Pros Easy to sign on, install and train drivers to use. Permanently mounted to the dash, but small in size. Cons Communication from Eroad is beyond horrible. Like any company, we have turnover in management for various reasons. I've left many, many voicemails and sent multiple emails, only to hear nothing back. Added new trucks and needed more units. Months went by and zero responses. Finally reached someone on the phone after multiple tries again, and they gave the email and phone number for the Director Indirect Sales. He was floored that we got his phone number, said he'd look into it and simply ignores everything now. When we asked to cancel our contract after multiple years of putting up with them, they won't let you out of the contract. We've asked where to send the units and we'll just pay out the rest of the contract, and can't get a response. All we're asking for is to make sure we're not getting charged when the contract is done, and THEY WON'T ANSWER! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! Reasons for choosing EROAD Their sales pitch was impressive. The cost for smaller fleets was reasonable during a time when the trucking industry was forced to move to Elogs. Reasons for choosing EROAD didnt look at other options as spoke to a few other companies and decided to go with eroad. Something happened within the last 2 years, it seems the have almost completely abandoned their US base of operations. I understand this is a company based out of New Zealand, but the US base seemed pretty robust at first. We have, several times, had trucks sitting in the yard unable to drive because of lack of support from ERoad. As soon as they are threatened with being in breach of their end of the contract, somebody magically shows up and takes care of whatever problem we're having. Up until that point, crickets. Pros Not much. I guess their ELD's work sometimes. Cons Their customer support has dropped off the face of the earth over the last couple years. It takes days to weeks to reach a support agent after the frustrating task of calling and listening to their hold music for hours on end. At least they finally got rid of the live chat feature, since nobody monitored that anyway. Now really hard to reach customer service. Lots of hold time, dropped calls and people not knowledgeable of their own product. Pros Point and click compliance. Great for logs and weight mile taxes Cons New reporting system missing items and a lot less user friendly. No longer as accurate as it was before the last "upgrade" Reasons for choosing EROAD Went with Eroad for the promised diagnostic ability. They never added that part to the package. But when it's time to start closing off some devices because the terms are up expect to be completely ignored. I have emailed for months. I have tried calling - 20 minutes into the call I gave up as it was only ringing and ringing. I am trying live chat feature and 13 minutes...still can't get anyone to respond. If only i could screen shot and share with you my experience in full. Cons Customer service which used to be great. Forget it.
