Best part of this software is it's open source and it supports web and client services based application. It supports multiple languages like Java, Java script, C#, Python etc.
Selenium doesn’t allow for code less testing. No built-in image comparison (No image verification).
The best part is we just need to run a script for the testing and we get results accordingly. It supports almost all the browsers like chrome, opera, firefox etc.
Drivers getting update rapidly and hard of configuration.
The plugging is great in order to help finding elements on page.
Nothing least about this tool. It doesn't support windows application.
Selenium has a powerful object identification mechanism which provides the ability to create custom object repositories and map out entire application interfaces before the tests are even developed.
Only drawback of this software is it won't support Windows based application. And it requires more programming knowledge to write and automate scripts.
My overall experience has been great with a few hiccups that have always been promptly resolved.
Far inferior to Visual Studio. Based on SharpDevelop which seems not to be continued (risk).
What I really like about Ranorex is its wide coverage of technologies, relative easy to learn and use UI, pretty robust and reliable element recognition and very helpful and responsive support.
At times I had a hard time identifying why a step failed.
The good support is realy great. We have a very special desktop software with combined technologies (Qt, ATL and .net and a OpenGL graphic area) and the team is doing its best to get it running.
It's difficult to do anything with some of the popup menus that our developers are utilizing.
The integrations and capabilities seem to be great. I've had colleagues use the point and click/recording feature previously and could only say great things.
Not Mac compatible so it has to be ran on a VM. The performance is slow while recording which makes the data entry a little difficult and requires the steps to be modified.
