Deltek Vision supports professional services firms like management & IT consulting, market research and architecture & engineering.
With Project, anyone can get started quickly and collaborate with remote teams anywhere.
After months of anticipation, I finally got approval to move forward with my decision and in 2010 we rolled out Vision for our accounting and H/R functions and have been quite pleased with it.
Our experience was absolutely horrible. Customer service agents screwed us from day one and we ended up getting stuck with a 3 year license that was never used.
The out of the box product is good, add to that the functionality, and then on top of that how easy it to customize to your needs - it towers on top of other similar software products.
The inability to drag in Outlook emails to populate client activities.
Overall really great experience, perfect tool for enginering consulting company, excellent customer support.
Without extensive training, I have no idea what I am doing and how it's affecting the information that spits out.
There is also a great online forum for user support that is free- its great to connect with other users how they use the product. Real experience is priceless.
Vision is not intuitive and the difficult to learn and use. For our company size the cost of the software is too expensive and again, difficult to use.
It has a range of powerful features that make it easy to create and manage complex projects. It has a great set of reporting tools that allow you to easily generate reports to track progress.
My only negative regarding this software is that it's costly.
I am about to use this software for creating reports and thankful that their customer support is very eager to help me so I can do my project and be familiar on the features of the software.
The disadvantage that I see with this software is that it requires an additional license to the Office suite. This should be in the general package.
This helps me in making simple looking data into much more creative and attractive and it looks great at visualising. Easy to use and simple user-interface.
Customization is poor and the process of the license is too much.
Use simple, the function is powerful, rich project template, can help the team to solve the examination and approval, newsletters, manage a lot of work.
Simple error in typing the dates or days of activities can lead to complications if not caught immediately.
Victoria S.: Hi, my name is Victoria. I'm an architecture and graphic design project manager. We have 110 employees at our firm, and I would rate Deltek Vision a four. So before Deltek Vision, we were using SAP as our main platform. It didn't work for us because it wasn't multidimensional enough, and I feel like SAP doesn't have a great customer support aspect to it, and the user interface isn't exactly friendly. So we chose Deltek Vision because of its multidimensional capabilities. We could do everything from accounting to billing to project management timelines, as well as customer-facing management. We could keep track of progress within different departments all at once, and that was really helpful for us. Deltek Vision is definitely a really big software. There's a lot of nooks and crannies to it. I would say it was moderately easy to get into our firm and get everybody on board, as well as pretty familiar with how to use it. It was a little difficult, just because it is really expansive in what it can do. So it takes a little bit of a learning curve, but overall, it was a really good experience. I would tell anybody that is thinking about getting Vision too, if you're part of a smaller firm, I wouldn't say go for it because it is pretty massive. But if you are trying to bring together different teams, different departments, getting everybody on the same page, I would absolutely go for Vision. It is a lot more user-friendly than quite a few other options out there, and I think that we really enjoyed integrating it into our day-to-day.
Karan S.: Hi, my name is Karan. I'm currently working as a consultant in a cybersecurity consulting company. I would like to rate MS Project as a rating of four out of five. Prior to using a Microsoft Project, I was using another tool, which is called Planner, which is kind of the web interface based tool. The problems which I was really facing with that tool was that it was about the functionalities. It didn't really have a lot of advanced and modern features as what my MS Project has and MS Project is more widely acceptable across different companies and that's why I'm planning to use that. I'm using Microsoft Project more efficiently right now because the way the information is organized in this tool is much more modern and it's more user-friendly. It's more easy to use. It's widely acceptable for different departments. Everybody's kind of used to that. It's easy to communicate through MS Project and helps achieve the work effort more easily. So bringing in Microsoft Project was not easy in the beginning because we had to provide training to all our users who have to use MS Project. It's not at first just seeing the tool could be complex, but we had to really get through the documentations and knowledge articles to understand this tool and we had to also do a lot of user communication, planning, user training and awareness for this tool to make it widely acceptable amongst all the departments and to promote the usage of this new tool across the organization. I would highly recommend if you want to start leveraging this new tool, Microsoft Project, across organization is to start looking at the licensing and cost aspect of it because licensing can be tricky. If we want to adapt to this Microsoft licensing, we really need to start planning on how to actually assign these licenses to what kind of people because not everybody should be using MS Project and the license could be expensive too. So maybe only the affiliated people who are working more towards project planning and project management this tool can be really helpful and I would also recommend [inaudible 00:02:51] to promote a lot of awareness amongst users who are going to be using to start adapting this tool through maybe brochures or email communications and also provide them training documentations at the same time so that they will start adapting to this new tool quickly and efficiently and this can be widely acceptable.
