It was definitely time for an upgrade. My staff loves how they can simply request off on the app on their phones, and the weekly reminders of who is in and who is out is great.
Even if something is not working or there is no such feature we needed we always could count on the Admin team.
The Calamari team walked us through every step, answered ever question, and were super personable. Great customer service and the software is truly amazing and easy to use.
There is no way to edit your time off request. If you make a mistake, the entire request has to be deleted, then the manager has to approve the cancellation, then you can resubmit the request.
It is very good for small companies like mine but also for bigger enterprises. I have recomended them to my customers and they are happy with Calamari too.
In 1 year, the annual cost almost doubled. And I dislike that some of the feature that was in the old and cheaper version was split into another product that you have to pay again.
The simplicity of setup and the ease of implementation was a fantastic experience. I always plan for a few "bumps in the road" but there was virtually zero complications when we launched.
I would say that the price is our worst handicap.
Now the process is simple, electronic and easy for everyone and being able to see who is where is fantastic.
Once you've added or deleted time for a user you can't delete it, so that got frustrating, as I wanted to start with everything correct in one entry, instead of seeing my corrections to my mistakes.
This has been a terrific product for us using it over 10 years and it was easy to transition a new manager to oversee the product.
Before implementing Actiplans for leave management we had a cumbersome paper driven system that was time consuming for everyone. Even for a team of 10 people.
I love being able to see colleagues pending/approved PTO so I can ensure that I'm not asking for time off that overlaps someone on the team so we can have proper coverage. It's also very easy to use.

Limit of the users, since the price is not cheap, the limit of users are not convenient for me, unless i have to pay more to buy the user slots.

Before Calamari, we really were back in the stone age of keeping track of everything with paper and pencil. And so people would just submit a written request when they wanted to have time off and our HR person would keep track of that with a notebook. And so we made a big leap moving to Calamari, and it's been a tremendous change. We switched to Calamari for a lot of reasons. It integrated very, very well with QuickBooks and we loved that. It was easy to use, we went through the demo, we didn't have any problem figuring out how to utilize it right away. They had incredible customer service. We'd reach out with questions and get answers right away and really felt like we mattered. And our users also found it very user friendly. So there were so many positives. We've just loved the switch to Calamari. Getting started with Calamari, as with anything always takes a little bit of a learning curve, but it really wasn't that difficult. Having the help of the Calamari staff to guide us when we ran into little roadblocks was great and we really got it up and running within a day. If you're looking for something to help keep track of your vacation time and time off, I can't recommend Calamari strongly enough. It's been great for our organization. It's easy to use and everybody loves it. We have not had any complaints at all among the administration who runs it or the staff that uses it.
