Horizon is very easy to use and the app is great. The features available are great and it's cheaper than the competitor that we used to use.
At the beginning of each season, I have to do battle with 150 umpires to get them to switch their availability from Unavailable to Available.
Ability to see availability over various associations, good phone app... filtering system good for pulling the reports I need.
After a couple of months using HWR, I finally realized how its power and performance blew away OA, and I was a little mad at myself for not discovering HWR sooner.
This assigning platform is the best out there and I have worked with all most all of the competetors.
Not completely intuitive. Messaging to all officials clumsy and sometimes frustrating.
Before I switched to HWR three years ago, I used Official Assignor (OA), which I thought was a good product at the time. But HWR is so much better, literally 10x better.
That is no longer the case. In addition, we have few if any no-show games where an official does not show up.
I like how easy it is for my students to pre-book their classes, the dashboard is awesome showing me who is attending for the day's sessions, and the emailing system is one of my most liked features.
With the last management software I was using I had to spend hours on the phone and honestly just dreaded going in to the gym to work on the computer.
Easy to use, very responsive and helpful developers to help ease our transition. All the features we want.
Lack of robust reporting. Lack of configurable signup menu (users see a long list that you can’t organize by category, yet).
This app was recommended by another user and it has made my life so much easier. Super simple interface, incredibly supportive customer service, and flawless member experiences so far.
A bit difficult to navigate belt ranks when different classes can count towards time in grade.
Customer service is great and very responsive which helps for troubleshooting on the fly.
I ended up choosing another product, but it wasn't because of any defect in the product. MAOR is both advanced and simple at the same time.
Estefan J.: My name is Estefan. I'm actually the owner of my academy and I give Martial Arts on Rails five stars. If you want to see more reviews like this, click the link below. So I actually never used a different software before. I mean, there were different options out there, like Zen Planner and different sort of yoga studio ones, but to be honest, I came across it on an ad, saw the interface, and I was pretty much just hooked right away. So to be honest, I was a bit familiar with Zen Planner before because it was using at the last academy I was working at, but the problem I found was it was just so bulky and clunky and it didn't really move. It wasn't optimized right. And so once I went to Martial Arts on Rails, I found that the interface was really nice. It looked very modern, up to date, and it was very fast and very responsive, which was a big deal for us. To be honest, it was really... It was very nice and easy. So we pretty much put it on all our devices. I have it on my phone, on our laptop, and our tablet. And in terms of actually getting the whole thing going, it really was super smooth. I mean, every time we emailed, we had a very quick response. I'm talking within half an hour and it was... We asked a lot of questions, but it was within half an hour we'd get something back. Oh, how does this work? How does that work? It was smooth sailing. Well, to be honest, I would just say if you've had a different one before, give this one a try. Believe me, it is a lot more simple and it just gets a lot of details done right. And with it being smooth and optimized, less headaches, it's just... It's a... Just give it a try. You got nothing to lose.
