Restaurant businesses looking for a flexible, cloud-based POS solution that also runs on mobile to optimize operations and increase revenue streams.
Aloha is designed to be the total management solution for bars and restaurants. The solution is particularly ideal for group operators looking to manage their whole estate's sales and operations.
We have seen an increase in profits, customer service and the reporting ability has helped to make our business better. Both in the front and back of the house.
We were so behind and losing money (people walking our) that I simply closed the kitchen. I lost a lot of money that night.
Great amount of flexibility, the best product we have seen or tried, we have looked at and had demos of others and this fit our operation the best.
Now im stuck with a POS system. When your down and struggling Im not one to burry someone.
I love that reservations can be received online, it helps us to organize ourselves better and leave our clients satisfied. It is used to manage time in general, salaries, breaks and much more.
Also some basic functionality on the restaurant side is still missing. Tickets in the kitchen print up items in random order and there is no way to address this in the system.
Hands down was the most inclusive and best reporting features for our Bar / Restaurant / Bowling Alley. The couple times I have had questions, I've had great support and resolution very quickly.
Getting used to not having a CAKE customer rep stopping by to assist in implementations although you supply that virtually on demand.
The thing I like most is that it does integrate across most restaurant functions - it covers loyalty, POS, has build-ins for inventory, etc. And the POS terminals are great.
I am frustrated with this software more often that I am not. It has taken about a year for me to figure out all the workarounds to get the information I need.
Their customer service is great (if you ever have to contact them anyway), and deployment is easy because it's very user friendly.
The only problem is with so many other options out there on the market Aloha has failed to lower their prices to be more competitive.
I had a good experience with aloha. Very user friendly and easy to use.
Since NCR has taken control of Aloha, the customer service has taken a severe nosedive. They are constantly "escalating" the issues to teams that never seem to get back to you.
Functionality is good, easy to rummage through, toggle and navigate made easy by touchscreen capable, orderly, tacks on prices for add ons.
The language on the brand side is not clear, the functionality is antiquated, and NCR should have stuck with just making cash registers. Software is not their game.
Jason: My name's Jason. I am IT at The Saloon restaurant where I also manage and I give CAKE four stars. We chose CAKE, we can have it on iPads at the server's table. From there it goes direct back to the kitchen, where we have some display screens where we can see orders at different stations in the kitchen. For example, we can have certain items go to the pizza station, certain items go to the frying station and certain items going to the grilling station, which we thought was really nice that CAKE can do that, and it can also be funneled, all orders to an expediter station, which we find very useful. I think the biggest advantage of CAKE is their support. At any point I can call them. They're US-based and their hours... I haven't had any problems yet and I can also text them at any time. So, when I'm busy running around the restaurant and I don't have time to hop on a call, I can text them and they can text back at our convenience and I can answer and ask questions and get answers on my own time, which is nice. As a restaurant, you're running around doing a million things and you can't really stop and chat on the phone. And the support has been absolutely hands down, the best support I've seen for a point of sale. CAKE for me, since I've seen a couple of point of sales, the onboarding was a little bit more difficult than other point of sales I've seen. However, their support makes up for that since if I'm having troubles doing something in the menu or with staff, a quick phone call or a text chat with them usually solves a problem pretty quickly.
