Education (mainly teachers from K-12 but we also have some university level users)
I like that the platform effectively organizes and manages virtual learning. It is really easy to categorize files, and the testing tools it offers are unique and helpful to have.
Using blackboard makes me so frustrated I hate when I have to use it every day. I do not recommend this software to anyone.
Blackboard has all the necessary tools to create a great and effective online learning environment. There are so many LTI tools you can integrate into Blackboard to be successful.
Whole passages of feedback will suddenly disappear if you move the mouse into the wrong area or scroll a bit while you are typing comments on the essay.
I like that it allows for the creation of rubrics, as all programs of this sort do. Really can't seen anything about this that is better or even as good as other programs.
It can be hard to find certain things and often tabs are hidden withing other tabs. This an also be frustrating to students when trying to locate content.
I like that it organizes courses in a very neat way, the website is easy to navigate and looks great visually. The calendar is very helpful.
I'm paying for the courses because institutions are supposed to pay for the use of the platform. But it happens frequently that the platform is down.
Overall, SafeShare.tv makes it easy for me to safely show videos to students without worrying over the repercussions of accidentally displaying inappropriate advertisements.
The only complaint I have is that it is limited to specific platforms, and is not universally available for all forms of video clips.
I love that I can safely share videos and save them on my dashboard for repeated viewings.
This is not something teachers should be doing in front of a class because that would defeat its purpose.
The teachers were thrilled. We really appreciate that we can have just the video we want, no recommended videos, no ads, and no comments.
Also, when used in SafeShare, the video is significantly smaller and cannot be maximized. This was a problem for classroom use.
It's a perfect value for money and I would highly recommend it to those who want to talk with family and friends, this is way better than any video calling software.
The hyperlinks to safeshare videos no longer work due to this feature.
Crystal: Hi. My name is Crystal. I'm an animal control officer and I give Blackboard Learn a four out of five rating. For more reviews like this, click below. The problems that I solve, I use Blackboard Learn for all of my online classes with my university. So, it really helps me incorporate that learning attribute with communication with my peers and my teachers, as well. What I like the most about Blackboard Learn is that it really makes it accessible and easy to take my online studies without having to have huge hoops of communication issues. I can speak directly with my teachers and my peers. What I like least about Blackboard Learn is that it does tend to have some technical issues. So, sometimes the platform will be down, and we won't be able to access our studies and our classes or submit work. And then, you can't communicate with the teacher unless you have their direct email. So, that is kind of complexing. And then you have to reach out to their 1-800 number. So, it tends to be a bit inconveniencing at times.
Tyler: My name is Tyler. I am an Associate Principal. I would give SafeShare.tv a five out of five. For more reviews like this, click below. Prior to using SafeShare.tv, we were using nothing. We were simply just using video clips that were found online, primarily on YouTube and Vimeo. SafeShare.tv really helped us to minimize those distractions and have a bit more control over the content that our students were seeing as teachers share more and more videos. We chose SafeShare.tv primarily because it's just so easy to use. It was relatively straightforward to integrate and implement because it was as easy as copy and pasting a link. And then, having a tool that really minimize those distractions right at the tip of the teacher's finger to do that. It integrated well within Canvas and our other learning management softwares. And aside from that, it really just help our students focus I think to really get rid of all those advertisements and all distractions that really became quite cumbersome to use in the past. It was very easy to get started with SafeShare.tv. The interface itself is intuitive. Again, it's relatively copy paste, and it's accessible on any device. So it really helped us to integrate it in a quick and easy fashion, especially at a time that was hard through distance learning. My only recommendations for someone considering SafeShare would really ought to be to dive in and try it. It is so intuitive and easy to use that even those that are not as tech savvy as some of us can jump right into it and use it. And I think they'll find a much higher level of engagement. So, go for it.
