Pros I liked Hightail's design, service, and storage/transfer capabilities, in addition to my using it as a backup or alternate to other programs; Hightail is reliable in this capacity, and I generally felt confident in using it--whether sending out or receiving. Cons Hightail did not work well with my Internet speeds, and felt slow and even cumbersome at times. It also felt limiting in the amount of data I could transfer, and seemed to be for quicker or smaller packages. There was also some confusion over email access via Hightail when dealing with certain clients who used it. Pros The thing I like most about Hightail is its feature to send files anywhere and we can send large media files without any restriction on the size of files we can send. Pros Hightail is so simple. Just drag and drop files of any size to send a link for the recipient to open the file. Cons There might be a better way to convey it on the receiving end - the recipient gets and email that says "John has sent you a file". With all the spamming these days, you have to take the extra step to let them know it's for real. For our photos, brand standards, or even when we need to send files/images/videos to someone else on the team. File size can be too large to send in an email, this is where Hightail comes in clutch. Clunky software where there are other better tools to achieve the same outcome. Pros When it was YouSendIt, it all seemed easier. I don't even know why. But then, it turned into Hightail, which made no sense to my small ad agency that used it. All we needed was the ability to file share easily, cheaply and quickly. Instead, like every appliance and software, you added feature sets that I suspect most companies never used or needed. With that, came complexity and cost. Think Snip Tool -- so simple, so easy top use, so fast. Now, when a client sends a Hightail, Google Doc, etc., I decline the file. Just send me a Zip, Word or PDF file. Cons Lousy branding, complicated to use, user unfriendly, too secure and a general pain in the neck. The ability to sync with my OneDrive makes it easy for me to upload files from my computer as I'm already using OneDrive in my workflow. The biggest drawback, however, is the price. Unless you're a power user, you can definitely find cheaper alternatives that provides similar level of features. Pros Ability to upload, store and share multiple large files, you can also sort them into projects so its easy to handle more than one projects at the same time. It also syncs from OneDrive and DropBox, which can be useful if you use those services. Cons For its price, unless you're a power user, chances are you'll find better alternatives. It's higher tiered plans are very competitive, and while the same can be said for its cheaper tiers, you may find that it isn't as worth it as what other services offer, which is the case for me. There also appears to be an issue where the email notifications to recipients often end up not being delivered based on my experience, which is a minor issue when dealing with low volume usage.
