MiniTool Power Data Recovery vs Datto SIRIS: Which is a better fit?

Before we had Datto, we had a number of different backup solutions, including Windows backup, Veeam, Altaro, and probably some more. We were trying to consolidate our backup on one platform, and that's when we started looking and we found the Datto SIRIS. The reason we eventually ended up selecting Dato SIRIS was a number of reasons. One was the support we were receiving from Datto, which has been exactly what they promised us. Their support teams are fabulous when there is a recovery issue or just even an issue with a backup. Secondly, it provided us business continuity, not just backup, so it provides unrewriteable or an immutable backup at the local level, streams that to the cloud. And because I've got the SIRIS platform, if the system I'm backing up goes down, I can restore it and run it locally and provide the end users business continuity while we're recovering the server. So that combination allowed me to provide better service, more effective value for my customers. Getting started with Datto was very straightforward. They shipped the device to us, gave us all the instructions, and then were available for support as we needed to explain all of the configuration options to make sure we understood exactly what our expectations were and that we can configure the Datto to meet those expectations. Very straightforward support was there as we needed them. They've got ongoing training, and been very pleased with how easy it is to get started. Probably the most difficult thing is that first backup when you're streaming it up to the cloud. So I do recommend that if you've got a large amount of data and a small amount of bandwidth, that you go ahead and order the disk with the drive so that you can do your first backup locally and then ship them the disk, which will save you a lot of time. I think there are a lot of really good backup solutions out there. The reason we use Datto is because of the reliability that we've experienced to date, the support when we have had to do recovers their code red team is on it. They help us with everything. They're not making us figure it out. We can pick up the phone and they will help us walk through step by step to make sure that we get a good backup. The other thing is the testing of the backup. We're able to programmatically test the backup multiple times a day automatically to make sure that we have a good backup. A backup solution's great as long as it's actually backing up what you think it is. So that screen test, the screenshot testing and the application testing that Datto provides gives me great confidence that should a disaster occur we will be able to recover.
