Since software development is an integral part of business operations in nearly every vertical market, Artifactory serves companies in all major industry sectors.
VMware Tanzu is used by software developers, platform engineers & architects and IT operations in mid-sized and large enterprises in financial services, retail, government and many other industries.
The ease of use and the learning curve of Artifactory is worth the time learning and making yourself comfortable with it. The UI is very welcoming and not overwhelming.
One can simply get lost in tons of options and strugle to find the right menus. This increases the learning curve for the application which is frustrating at times.
We use Artifactory for all of our packages, the Ui is amazing.
Reporting and Analytics is a weak point. Also vulnerabilities scanning is not available by default and you need to purchase XRAY which is a separate product.
Great and convenient service for package management.
Frequently log you out and had to login every time. May be a secure feature but it really make you loose you patience.
Artifactory is clearly leading the way allowing me to use both SaaS and on-prem to manage all my packages types /NuGet/Docker/ etc.
There's one security feature of auto logout after particular time limit but it keeps me logout very frequently and I've to login in again and sometimes it really makes me loose patience.
A solution that is reliable and maintained with ease, we are overall a happy customer.
Their pricing metrics are all wrong. That is to say that the basis for pricing the product is not aligned with the individual components nor with business outcomes.
I have a great time explaining the tech and the different tools / software to the customer. They are most likely really interested into Tanzu and want to know more.
Documentation is still a weak point, especially after mergind Pivotal and VMware.
The overall experience is great. This is a promising and developing solution.
There is no balance between new features added (really high) and stability (non-existent).
I don't see any major problems with integration to good known DevOps tools like: Gitlab, Jenkins, Artifactory, Terraform, Vault. New platform customers are happy to use Tanzu environment.
The configuration and initial setup is quite hard and requires a lot of manual configuration.
