Application building platform for developers that helps with code generation, scenario testing, auto code-splitting, application state routing, binding syntax resolving, and more.
Moreover, we have seen Codemagic grow into a more mature and comprehensive platform including support for more frameworks and monorepos (again, excellent blog post about them).
Documentation for the set up (not for flutter project) should be made more comprehensible. The inability to receive an email when a build failed.
The customer service is very responsive and helpful. The best is that Android UI tests run on Genymotion emulators and therefore are super fast and reliable.
That can lead to the wrong builds being auto-cancelled and a bit of confusion as to whats happening. Sometime issues with retrieving build logs.
The feature that I most like of codemagic Is: codemagic is easy to use and help to speed up the process of software development and testing. Integrations with slack is other of my favorite feature.
Setup of the yaml file slightly confusing with multiple versions on the net.
The macOs vm is a lifesaver and the 500 free build munites are great for us as a startup.
Missing the possibility to post release_notes with iOS builds. Missing the possibility to add additional info to the release_notes message (e.g. integration testing results to the Slack message).
This product is great when coding and does not require you to finish everything you just write in a word and it's done the job for you this is an amazing software "ever.
Loss of $watch, observables, loss of $emit,$broadcast and $on on a scope level.
Our Angular developers are able to make beautiful and remarkable works through which, we can then reach our target simply.
Testing in a Development Environment it does get confusing why deployment takes long.
I have worked on few frameworks such as knowcketJS and all, but this is the best. Easy to use and easy to maintain.
Heavily weighted framework. Poor accessibility for page scrappers and search crawlers.
As of now we have developed 3-4 applications with the help of angular as front end. The business is very happy with the user interface and the speed of the application.
Sometimes, it is really resource-consuming. The bigger app is getting, the more resource it needs/the more performance will be affected.
Evgenij S.: Hello, my name is Evgenij. I'm a CTO, and my rating for Codemagic is five. For more reviews, click below. Before using Codemagic, we have built our software manually using different local computers, and it has taken really much time. And the process was also pretty error prone. So yeah, this is why we decided to look for a continuous integration solution. And this is when we have found Codemagic. I would say the number one reason for choosing Codemagic is its flexibility. The flexibility of the build workflow that you can design. It supports multiple platforms, different configurations, and this was pretty important for us as we are building a wide label solution. So we have to adapt it for different clients. This worked really well with Codemagic and additional reason was the really well done documentation. So one can find everything what you need concerning like different configuration options. And there are also different blog posts, which explain a lot of the stuff that is required to set up your environment. And the third point I would say is the fantastic support that the team has provided to us. I think it's definitely not usual to get such a good support, but this was one of the greatest benefits as well. The setup process was a little bit hard in our case, than the usual process because we had so much different configuration options, but with the great help of the Codemagic support members, we managed to get the setup up and running in just a few days. And I think that's a really good result. What I would recommend as a prerequisite before starting out with Codemagic is to get to know the Google Play and Apple developer consoles. So you know what kind of configuration that is even possible and how the release process is performed if you're not using any CICD solutions. So you just know like the different configuration options and the other possibilities that are there. And also one thing that might be helpful is to know the YAML code format, if you're not used to it yet, because all the configuration is done in this format. So I think that should be enough to get started. Everything else is really well described in the documentation and the official blog posts from Codemagic.
