Navicat Premium targets DBAs, developers, and data analysts needing robust, user-friendly software for efficient data management. Caters to professionals and organizations across industries.
Application developers, database administrators, system administrators, DevOps engineers.
This is a great tool to help visualize databases and various database functionality. You can utilize pretty much all popular data sources with this application.
It is very costly to purchase the Navicat Premium that accompanies full highlights.
The graphical interface is very beautiful and attractive, it makes the work pleasant, it is very intuitive, which allows discovering new functionalities as the tool is used.
Ideally, it should try to reconnect after and continues from where it stopped, but it doesn't. Again, this is the only con I have agaist Navicat and maybe this couldn't be the tool's fault.
The query builder is just amazing, it helps you to build a query by just using drag-n-drop, which would be your final query or at least be a good base for a cumbersome query.
We need in-depth knowledge of database operation and the attention that a database deserves, always making copies before changes that can lead to data loss.
Most important it has simple UI and it's very easy to use. It has visualisation of tables connections which is one of the best features of Navicat.
It would make mobile modification and manipulation more attainable.
The best part of Aurora is that it is managed, which makes everything easier for setting up. The data is encrypted which helps the data to be secured completely.
One bad thing that developers have limited control over the underlying infrastructure and configuration.
It's a really nice database system and supports both MySQL and Postgres, which is a plus. Connecting it to EC2 is really easy by just making sure the security groups are happy.
It's not user-friendly which makes it difficult to use at the beginning.
Keep the data, and this is a good thing, and this is one of its best features, and some programs are not safe, but this program very safe and very easy to use and retrieve my information is easy.
The interfaces are all identical, we didn't have to change any code at all (except for one thing -- see below), and once we cut over, it just worked.
The reliability, speed, and ease of scaling that Aurora offers are unmatched at their price. RDS was great when we started out, but with our software's growth, moving to Aurora was an easy decision.
Reading/writing via external (i.e. not on AWS) applications is.... difficult. At least, it took me a while to figure it out.
Prioritize real-user-identified key features according to your needs to find your best fit.
