From the other hand, students can relax a minute during the lesson while answering the question with this lovely and funny interface.
The error clues are sometimes diffucult to undercover and find out what you are doing wrong, specially when you are starting to program.
Kahoot is a very unique software that can turn ordinary things such as exam review sessions or trivia into a fun competition style experience, very helpful in making meetings more fun and engaging.
But when I have, I found errors / such as wrong answers. So if you are going to use them, double check them before you launch it in front of your audience.
It keeps students interested in learning and also allows for the teachers to be able to create reviews in an easy and effective way. Kahoot is easy to use and definitely a great value for the money.
I haven't found anything that could make me hate or dislike this app. Although, they could implement some other features to make it easier to use.
Even if you lose in a game where the main goal is to win, you enjoy the process. Even if the player loses, they have a good experience thanks to the community they interact with.
For example, if students press a wrong answer by mistake while playing the game, they are not able to go back and change it before the time is up.
GoGuardian helps teachers ensure that students are using computers appropriately and staying on task. I love that you can see what students are doing, as well as what other tabs they have open.
Gogaurdian is the worst thing in the world for me and other kids my age.
I love that the company interacts with their customers to help build a better product and experience.
The whole peace of software is really bad and should be banned from schools.
Their customer support and outreach has been phenemenal. Not only does the GoGuardian team respond to my emails and requests, but they are happy to reach out for feedback and ideas for improvement.
I dislike the fact that there are too many work-arounds to where students can by-pass the GoGuardian protections. There are numerous videos on YouTube that show how to get around their software.
I like the ability to check students when they are working online. I especially like to monitor students when they are typing essays.
They can choose to monitor or restrict Chromebooks. We use GoGuardian Admin to monitor Smart Alerts and track lost Chromebooks.
Amanda: Hi, my name's Amanda. I'm a coding coach and I give Kahoot! five out of five stars. We use Kahoot! in our classrooms and our at home learning modules to ensure that students have access to all the information that they need, as well as engaging interactive study review sessions that they can do at home or in class. I love Kahoot! because not only is it easy to use from the teacher side, but it's easy to use from the student side. Students can use it on their phones, on their computer. I can display it on our smart boards or our projectors. It's very versatile and we can use it to do a lot of things educationally. I wish Kahoot! had a little bit more options for student engagement, such as freeze times or like a little game that they could be playing during the Kahoot! I know a couple of competitors have similar things like that, and my students really enjoy that engaging aspect.
Alexis Z.: Hi, my name is Alexis, and I am an English II teacher. My company size is between 5,000 to 10,000 people, and my rating for GoGuardian is five out of five stars. I came to learn about GoGuardian through my current school district. When I joined, they were utilizing this program. I had never heard of it before, but they provided us a training, and I noticed many features that were very appealing to me that I could use in the classroom. There are many features of GoGuardian that stand out to me to be absolutely fantastic. First, when students are working on a Chromebook, I can easily monitor what they are doing. I'm also able to address off-task behaviors in the moment by chatting through students through GoGuardian's chat system. Also, I find that when students are working on essays, utilizing GoGuardian and its chat system makes it very efficient and easy for me to check all the students' work very quickly and provide efficient feedback. For example, when I am looking through GoGuardian on my Chromebook, I can check each student's work as they are working in the moment, and then I can send them feedback right away. This allows me to check many students in a shorter amount of time than it would be if I was to go student by student. I also like how I am given a report about all of the websites that students access after I close my GoGuardian session. Getting started with GoGuardian was extremely easy. Once I logged in, I could see all of my classes, and all of my rosters were already available to me. All I had to do was start the session, which was very self-explanatory and easy to do. One bit of advice I would give to someone who is looking at getting started with GoGuardian is to utilize it for all of its great features, but to also keep in mind that there are certain workarounds for students that allow students to put a screen up and seem like they are working, but they're actually not. They're playing a game. So I would advise that you watch each student diligently as on the computer as they are working, and make sure that they are working on the page they're supposed to be working on. If you don't see any movement, then you might want to go check on that student.
