An EHR/EMR solution designed for mid-size to enterprise practices. NextGen EHR offers integrated workflow benefits from 50-plus years of clinical experience and more than 150,000 providers.
OP offers pediatric EHR software solutions to independent pediatric practices, super groups, and CINs.
The best part of NextGen is the ability to customize the templates and documents. With some knowledge of SQL and Crystal Reports, we can get meaningful and actionable reports.
For Self-Pay issues, there is no way for errors to be caught.
Overall, my experience with Nextgen is great. Tech support is outstanding, the application is easy to use.
The new patient portal is also a buggy mess that we cannot get to work any time there is an update.
I think it has great qualities that just need some tweaking to be really fantastic.
My team has experienced an ever-increasing number of tickets go completely unanswered, then when tracked down they are just listed as known issues and forgotten about.
That it is easily customizable/configurable. Love that we can create a template on our own if NextGen doesn't have one that pertains to what we need.
It is blocky and does take more clicks than other EMR systems to get where you need to go sometimes. Also could use an overhaul on the permissions that allow potential for mistakes.
I love that OP is for pediatric practices only, so the focus is solely on ways to help our office function better. The program is easy to use and is constantly being updated with new features.
The billing software and the integration with merchant processors isn't always smooth or seamless, causing disruptions in patient statements/collections and also errors that can be embarrassing.
Also, I like that it is designed for pediatrics, and I love the technology of how prescriptions are automatically printed out and sent to the pharmacy. I'm happy that our practice chose this software.
Sometimes, it's hard to find what I'm looking for, and sometimes, when you put information in OP, it becomes lost somewhere in the system. I don't get the whole messaging aspect of the software.
I like the ease of use and their commitment to meeting meaningful use requirements. They are always improving, and they listen to their customers.
The nightmare is for real. Their support now is really bad.
If it's for a pediatric office, this is an awesome software to have, great graphing for growth charts. Good documentation done by providers when using templates.
Revenue reporting is very difficult to understand.
