Vertex vs CCH ProSystem fx: Which is a better fit?

The customer support and ease of use has been fantastic. I have had to call Vertex for support, for recommendations on doing things and for knowledge on the product.

There are sometimes outages, since we are using a cloud based product, and those do cause some orders to go through without the correct taxes being charged.

The customer service people are also exceptionally friendly and the Exchange provides a great opportunity to network with them and fellow colleagues.

Single point of failure. If any part of the connection to Vertex is down the ERP system is unable to complete jobs.

Vertex Cloud has a very easy to use and comprehensive user interface, a robust product mapping capability, and the ability to user test within the interface.

The only thing that we don't like is being charged a minimum fee if we do not use the software in any given month.

I like the ability to run reports and see all of my data so I can manage it myself, in addition to taking advantage of the reporting functionality.

Customer service is all by e-mail and it's poor.

Reliability, consistency, ease of installation, everything just works. What I, as the IT Manager like best is the level of support I receive from CCH.

Poor tech support and poor installation services.

I like the most that it is user friendly and easy to maneuver. The input flows through seamlessly to the tax return and provides an accurate return.

If you are contemplating suicide, this software will definitely be a deciding factor in cementing your demise.

The software is very simple to use initially, but has some fun tricks you can pick up on with repeated use. It's very well organized, and has a lot of strong built-in tools.

Spent 2 weeks trying to add a state. Worse than on hold with the IRS.

It's easy to use and reliable, it has a safe feeling as well to share sensitive documents.

Overall, my experience with CCH ProSystem fx has been disappointing.
