Users in any type of business or organization who need to remotely access their work and/or home computers, or remotely support clients' computers.
Dameware products support IT pros worldwide. Based on their needs, you can choose between DRE, which is perfect for SMB businesses, or DRS, which often is more suitable for government organizations.
I had a search on the interwebs and found Splashtop offering a free trial. Installed it, used it and was immediately impressed and pleased to have found a solution that worked and fit our budget.
Support is clueless and the follow up is very poor. If you need to service your clients in a timely manner, this may not work for you.
This software makes it super easy to work from home-or anywhere you want for that matter. I liked that it allows you see your computer at work's screen.
Only downside is if you connect from one machine to a remote pc and leave it connected you can’t connect to a 2nd machine. I tried to disconnect but it never seems to work.
The remote access and control is very reliable, fast, and secure, and it's so great to be able to access any file or program while away from your computer.
This can sometimes be an annoyance in overlap over who actually is controlling the screen at one time.
I tried a few different remote access applications and for the price Splashtop is by far the best. The ease of setup and connecting to the remote systems is great.
I was a bit confused about finding the correct software package on the website.
Dameware is a Powerful, comprehensive and secure IT support tool with remarkable remote connection capabilities that is easy to use and real value for money.
Annoying encounters of old and new clients/agents not installed; other annoying errors during connection. A bit expensive per license.
I have used this program for some time and the ease of use is at the top of the list of the good.
Dameware occasionally will connect to the wrong PC if there is a DNS conflict.
It works quickly and has great features. The screen shots are easy to do and being able to check windows logs from the back end is a great feature.
It allowed us to do this for users that were having trouble connecting to the network over VPN as well (a limitation in other products).
Speed of connection , ease of use, ease of setup. Plus I like the fact we can set it to where the user allow us connection and they know we aren't just watching them.
What I do not like is that when I keep an organized list of end point machines, it keeps losing my machine names and mixing them up.
Speaker 1: Hi, my name is Sabrina. I'm a billing specialist, and I give Splashtop Remote Control four out of five stars. And for more reviews like this, you can click below. We use Splashtop to connect to the computers that are in our offices when we're working from home. We also use it to get into the client's computer to troubleshoot and to solve problems from there. What I like the most about Splashtop is that it's really easy to use. As long as you have the credentials to the computer you want to log into, then you can just put them in, find the name of the computer, and that is all you need to do. What I do not like about Splashtop is that sometimes when you connect to another computer, first of all, you can drag and drop files. And second, it might get slower, and that takes a long time to do things on the computer that you're connected. So I think that's something that they should improve.
Michael L.: Hi, my name's Michael. I'm an IT consultant. I give Dameware four to five. For more reviews like this, check out below. We use Dameware as an extra method of accessing our servers when a remote desktop connection is potentially unavailable. We also use it for end user support, when we want to connect directly users workstations. What I like about Dameware is that it's a confirmed connection to a remote server. You don't have to worry about not being able to access the server when you need it, because it has an agent installed that ensures the connection. What I don't like about Dameware is you need to push the remote agent to the users work stations and in some cases that isn't available, especially when it's an ad hoc user support request and you don't always have it available and sometimes it's tough to get that installed remotely.
Prioritize real-user-identified key features according to your needs to find your best fit.
