On-premise 3D parametric modeler platform that enables architects, programmers, and teachers to make machine tools and architectural designs in 2D and 3D thereby creating production-ready drawings.
Designed for the education industry, it helps teachers and students create 3D designs, & electronics simulations using coding or built-in design tools.
Love that I can create a visual for my bosses at work to see using this software, was very impressed how easy it was to pick up and go, lots of videos and help on the internet.
The software is in BETA with problems in common options such as "do not undo", and has a problem with the action of the word.
Very good 3D tool and perfect for anyone who needs to review 3D models and does not own a commercially available solution. Backed by a dedicated group of skilled knowledgeable developers.
If you haven’t already dabbled in similar programs you may have some problems or feel lost.
This is a pretty darn intuitive parametric CAD program. I love that its open source and is maintained by a great community.
Near no customer service and sometimes sub-par tutorials. Getting the right install location can be difficult.
A different version of software compared to other softwares such as AutoCAD and its very nice 3D drawing in different angles of projections. I am blessed to see my great work in this software.
Every once in a while it does strange things. However, this is no worse than other, higher priced, commercial software.
FREE!!! for starters, and if your a Cadd user... well this is great, good to use and really awesome with a 3d printer.
Bad internet connection can frustrate you since it's a web based software.
I really liked the ease of use. It’s very intuitive interface and performance were great.
Also, it's difficult to use in modeling complex designs as it only offer primitives. It lack tools needed for modeling complex designs, for example creating 2D and extruding or revolving tools.
I love the web-based function of this software. It is so nice to be able to access my library and work on projects from anywhere.
Sometimes it’s hard to edit models because I can’t rotate to the spot I need.
My overall experience with Tinkercad have been quite positive. I have used Tinkercad to onboard my students into the world of 3D printing and to help them develop confidence in the design process.
The app will crash on us a couple times, but you just have to pull it back up - it’s not a deal breaker.
Andrew: My name is Andrew. I work as an administrative assistant. For FreeCAD, I give it a three out of five. For more reviews like this, please click below. I use FreeCAD for designing Legos and Lego bricks, as in, I try to. Not to say I've done it well, but I try to. What I like about FreeCAD is that it's a free software that makes it accessible to anyone with an internet connection, and that it's of good entry level software for those who just want something for beginners. I don't like how FreeCAD isn't compatible with the files from Autodesk and with Autodesk, that's one of my caveats with it, and the X, Y, and Z access is finicky, to where it makes it a bit hard to extrude things.
