From SMBs, startups, labs, educational institutions, and machine shops all the way to Sandia National Laboratories. Organizations of 1 to 1000 choose Alibre for economical, powerful 3D engineering.
It is suitable for all kind of simpler printmaking and customization because it does not support 3D CAD modeling. This software is also an excellent solution for firms from foreign countries.
The absence of direct documentation and the lack of support for files in the DWG format. The user manual is not available and the 3D design is missing, something that could come in future versions.
The best thing about this program is that it is free and open source is a great advantage, It is also a very simple program to use and with a very nice interface.

It is an awesome software frequently used by the people. Its key features that enhances its popularity includes the options of drawing, measuring, adjusting, saving, printing and exporting designs.
Both its features and stability prevent it to reach the next level. Also poor online documentation does assist.
Alibre Design for me was a Professional MCAD software with amazing feature sets, very generous pricing and very flexible and pocket friendly upgrade options.
Hidden Line Management in 2D drawing can be a real pain and cumbersome to manage. No option to set Annotation Text Colors and Leader Colors to be the same, by default.
The new versions seem to be becoming more feature rich allowing me to do more things at an easier and fast rate. The price is wonderful and allowing for more progress through management is important.
Placement of initial components in assemblies is putsy. I prefer a dragon and drop of the first component that aligns itself automatically to the assembly datum planes.
The best part is the Company, their philosophy, being customer centric and the amazing community around this amazing tool.
Req'd by my Internal DWG Standards). 2D Drawings from Scratch are difficult.
Overall Alibre is a very good modeling software and I know that the programmers and future updates and new versions will make this software go from good to an excellent modeling software.
