Developers, Marketing agencies, Managed service providers (MSPs). Anyone who is responsible for a website/web service and needs to know if the website goes down.
Competitive intelligence solution that helps businesses of all sizes receive alerts or notifications in case of changes across various web pages or platforms based on search items.
This is a great software that helps you monitor your web applications regularly. You get the notification as soon as they are down and this helps you manage your web application effectively.
API to warn about future maintenance and history of failures or maintenance.
The fact that there are no unnecessary features and that it is entirely focused on its primary purpose is a great advantage.
That was fixed once I raised it to their support desk. However, when switched off, the check still failed as the type of SSL error the site was throwing was still picked up.
Ability to integrate with a status page for free is a big advantage. Growing with a company is a good business model for people who are just starting out.
I sometime get confuse while selecting a date range for report.
Huge number of checks, very short intervals, a comprehensive integration, super fast support, very reliable and quick with notifications.
Loading the page is not super fast. Alerts logic is sometimes weird (eg, keeps sending me email alerts when DNS is down... but no DNS means no email for the same domain).
I like how easy it is to use Google alerts and how they help me keep an eye on important industry players and news with their reports, which are conveniently delivered to my email.
With a lot of simplicity comes lack of features. It can also be very boring for tech geeks.
Google Alerts is the best way to stay informed about the things you like on the internet. With this system from Google you can better manage what you watch on the web.
Some of the search results lack authenticity a it may be outdated.
My overall experience with google alerts is very satisfied and i am enjoying this free of cost service with amazing features for last many years.
Sometimes, Google Alerts can be a little overwhelming depending on the user's settings and, at times, hundreds of alerts can be sent which makes email management a bit difficult at times.
I like the fact that it is super easy to setup the tool and start getting reports on the topics of interest directly on your inbox.
The frequency which Google Alerts gets terms from web it's a bit lazy. Even when you know that a term is frequently used, it shows you little information.
Andrew: Hello, I'm Andrew, owner. Today, I'm rating Freshping. I give it a rating of five. For more reviews like this, click below. For me, I really didn't have a software to tell me when websites were having errors. To be honest, Freshping opened up my eyes to new softwares where it would actually make it easier for the website to send me an email versus my clients calling me going, "Hey, my website's down. Why is it down?" It usually would give me the chance to find out the website's down, fix it, and then send the customer a short email saying, "Hey, your website went down. This is what was wrong, and we're already back up and running." Basically chose Freshping because it's the only one I really found on the market that was an easy tool to use. It made my life easier when I can set up a, "Hey, this is the error 404 message for this website. Why is it offline?" And it would send it to me instead of the client getting upset going, "Hey, my website's down. I'm losing business. Why is my website down?" It was definitely simple to set up Freshping. You follow the step-by-step guide. For their initial system set-up, you can literally set up 50 websites at first, and anything above 50 websites is when they actually start billing you for it. For me, as a small-time website developer, getting set up with something easy was the best thing for me. To be honest, Freshping was the best thing that happened to me and my company, so I would recommend it to anybody and everybody, even if you're just starting out as a web developer and you only have five websites. That five could turn into 15, could turn into 20. If you've got that alert system that's going to tell you when a website goes down, it just makes you look more professional.
Jeanette: Hi, I'm Jeanette, and I'm a business owner. And I give Google Alerts four out of five stars. For more reviews, please click below. As a business owner who does various different services for clients all around the world, google Alerts helps me greatly keep on top of many different things. I love the fact that I can put up different words to get alerted when they're being talked about, or being that I'm a very public person, that I am able to alert when anybody says my name, my complete name, I can put into the system. So therefore, I can go and either thank the person for tagging me into a social media post, or I can share or build relationships. As well as, with social media, it's so important to know what's going on in the different platforms. So by setting alerts, I am keeping on top of my business to the four corners of this round world using Google Alerts. So what I like most about Google Alerts is I have a very unique social media training program. And it's got a unique title. And what I love is I'm able to put that into Google Alerts. So if somebody is using my, say, system or a version of my system, I can be on top of if somebody is basically ripping off what I do for a living. So that's what I love the most, is when you are a small business owner and you have developed your own unique programs, you want to keep on top of it, and Google Alerts definitely helps me with this. The one thing that I like least about Google Alerts, you know I gave them four out of five stars, is they don't allow the use of symbols, like quotation marks. Because my program has got quotation marks in the branding of it, I tend to get a lot of alerts that aren't relevant to what I put the Google Alert in. So Google Alerts it'd be great if you could include quotation marks, or question marks, or exclamation points. It would make a lot easier for me to go through all those great alerts I get to make business that much easier for me.
