Engineering and construction firms, project managers, document controllers
Year on year the software has improved and now represents simply amazing value for money. We looked at many systems closely but DocuWare proved to offer the best functionality vs cost.
Some bugs in the task assigning process is the defect i identified in this software, i have some troubles with this function.
It's ease of use is the largest PRO. We have our entire shop (35+people) using the software and the fact it is so user friendly is simply excellent.
The development of an interface between docuwar and our inventory and sales system took too long. Now I am thinking of changing it but I am worried about the time it will probably take.
This is very customizable for each business based o their requirements. Also the ability of Docuware to integrate with DB's is amazing and to pull and push data based on your configuration.
So convoluted, in fact, that if you don't work with the interface on a very frequent basis you will find yourself struggling to perform most configuration changes.
We like that DocuWare is very customizable in how we are able to store documents. We also like that it provides a shared vault that everyone can pull from, ensuring consistency in document use.
Trying to print it a bit of a hassle, which is confusing because it didn't used to be that way. I'm not sure why happened or why.
Transmittal module, very configurable, with good tracking of pending replies. Possibility to manage full project portfolio once the system is implemented, without going back to the vendor.
No "U-Turn" to Review stage once workflow stage moved to Comment Compilation, compiler need to offline circulate the documents to additional reviewers if required.
It is SharePoint based, hence the GUIs are extremely familiar with relation to other Microsoft Products which keeps the standard features extremely user friendly.
System is customized to what end user needs, and they have no chance to say 'No', 'Didn't receive' etc.
A very versatile, robust and configurable document control system.
Suggest to have UI analyst at design and build phase. System implementation will not be effective with lack of change management.
Since I haven't been able to use all options in the system yet, I cannot give feedback about that. But with excelent help of the Pulz Support team, we were able to get the documents into Pulz quickly.
The implementation strategy created confusion to the users as the system being branded with different name - BMS DC vs EDCS.
Prioritize real-user-identified key features according to your needs to find your best fit.
