Overall NetBeans is a one of the best solution for java developing. NetBeans interface is easy to understand therefor it is a good choice for a beginner too.
It's not the easiest software to use at times. Some of the error outputs can get confusing with just the sheer number of messages it gives.
It supports more than one language. More inbuild functions help us to write perfect and clean code.
But many functionalities and newer design elements lack. And there was no many major upgrade that completely changed core of product.
This is a great free IDE which has great community support. It works great with WAMP on windows, and the debugger is easy to use.
Unfortunately the changeover to Apache foundation seemed to break something. Now I've been unable to use it proficiently.

Great application yo deploy your dynamic content. Better provide us the details of Java application which is best suited for the version and make it compatible with other applications.
Lack of support in file formats, only supports Jar and War. Sometimes updated code is not applicable unless we stop and start the server.
It provides excellent functionality for code to execute on your local system which is super helpful for debugging and development. Has good documentation and community support.
Debugging is fairly basic and doesn't allow viewing of the actual error. Sometimes can have issues with memory leaks, which is hard to debug in live environment.
Overall experience has been amazing. Hosted quite a lot of applications via Apache Tomcat and found this product amazing.
Sometimes cpu utilization increases a lot despite less load and even memory leaks error messages prompts up.
Tomcat is stable and reliable. I have used it in production environments for many years and is trusted by numerous organizations.
Its hard for anyone without programming background to understand it.
