It makes handling large assemblies easier and improves productivity by reducing repetitive design efforts. The ability to quickly find and organize files has been very useful for both engineering and customer support activities. Integration with Solid Edge X and other Siemens tools further enhances our workflow and collaboration. From an end-user perspective, it simplifies many routine tasks and helps us complete projects faster. However, there is still scope for improvement in areas like performance with very large data, AI-based automation, and overall user experience. Pros what we like most about Designcenter Solid Edge is that it helps us quickly find the files we need, which saves a lot of time in daily work. It makes it easy to reuse old designs and standard parts, so we don’t have to start from scratch every time. All our data stays well organized, so it’s easy to locate and use when required. Even when working with large and complex assemblies, it performs smoothly. It ensures we always use the latest and correct version of files, avoiding confusion. The interface is simple and easy to understand for regular users. It works well with Solid Edge, making the overall workflow better. It also helps teams work together by controlling who can access what data. This reduces mistakes and keeps everything consistent. Overall, it makes our daily work easier, faster, and more efficient. Cons I have not found any least points in Designcenter Solid Edge yet. In the latest version of solid edge has introduced a lot of new features and functionality, which are very useful. Pros We use Siemens Solid Edge as the backbone of our product and factory development lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning. All machinery layouts, custom equipment designs, and factory expansion models are developed in Solid Edge, allowing us to rapidly iterate designs, validate fit within real-world constraints, and maintain a single, accurate digital representation of our production environment. By integrating Simcenter FLOEFD directly within Solid Edge, we move beyond traditional CAD into simulation-driven design. We actively simulate airflow, temperature distribution, and humidity behaviour across our processing and packaging environments—critical for drying performance, product consistency, and hygiene compliance. This enables us to identify issues such as condensation risk, airflow inefficiencies, and thermal inconsistencies before physical implementation. The value this delivers is substantial: Reduced risk: Problems are identified and solved digitally before capital is committed or equipment is installed. Faster decision-making: Design iterations that would take weeks physically are completed in hours. Optimised performance: Equipment and facility layouts are engineered for real operating conditions, not assumptions. Cost efficiency: Minimises rework, avoids overdesign, and improves ROI on major capital investments. The UI has been greatly improved in its feel and operation. Making it more modern and user friendly. Really happy about the dark mode addition as well. In overall the performance has improved on the operation of the software. Enjoying the performance mode it has to offer. Pricing is ok but feel like better options and bundles should be created to allow for adding more employees easier. The Siemens Academy use to be the go to but needs more work done, cannot wait for the revamp to be completed. There are tons of resources online that are helpful when required. New AI features are really helpful for speeding up daily use! Keep adding more please! Cons Multithreading can be improved a lot on simulations as full hardware usage does not seem to be utilized. Solid edge delivers consistently on the functionality I need Pros Its intuitive design streamlines my workflow, making it easier to bring intricate designs to life and ensuring precision in each and every project. This software has been a pillar as a professional toolkit, enhancing productivity and creativity. Cons Solid Edge has a Simulation tool within it, which is not used to its full capability. This may be due to less focus towards Simulation. Solid Edge should enhance its Simulation capabilities to enable users to quickly perform checks and comprehensive analysis. Improvements could include faster meshing, better structural analysis, and enhanced interoperability with other simulation tools. Due to a hard drive crash we need to reinstall the program, but we cannot find the original DVD. We only have the SELicense.dat file The local distributor said that they cannot give us a copy of Solide Edge ST8 for which we have a license, and we have to buy the latest version. Pros All of the features are perfect and we have use it 9 years now without a problem.
