There's no doubt in my head that the scale we operate at today was only possible by using Octopus Deploy for our deployments.
Octopus is fantastic for complex deployment scenarios; when my clients ask me the best way to deploy the same solution in a multi-tier environment, Octopus deploy the first recommendation.
Sometimes it is hard to find where variables that are used in the deployment scripts are stored.
Feeling confident that I can hit a button and be sure four servers in three different countries on another continent are going to be safely updated is awesome.
A bit buggy in the beginning, Tentacles would stop, but this seems to be over.
Octopus is very careful when adding features, and ensuring that everything is focused on a better deployment experience. The UI is easy to use, and provides guardrails to help people get started.
Process creation - adding steps, moving, sometimes but irritating. You know to know the tricks.
When setting up I had a lot of questions and they respond quickly. I like the interface, the ability to easily see exactly what is contained in each request is great and the API is straightforward.
Inability to filter or sort scheduled tasks (especially by payload). Inability to temporary pause scheduled task.
Helps to change the serial processing and get all the benefits of parallel cloud computing. Great intuitive UI with all the needed details.
So we are suggested to use either enterprise or on-premise deployment. The question is, it's just small part of our overall architecture but either E/P services charged too much.
Very easy to use, the analytics is great option for use to optimize our code, the guarantee cron job is peace of mind to our business.
But the lack of a search feature/function is the #1 issue for Iron in my opinion.
Overall, I am very satisfied with IronWorker and I have recommended it to my friends and colleagues.
Occasionally jobs stall in the queue and need to be manually pushed through. This has not happened recently.
