We use it for GPS and Dash cams. There are still more features included which we have not used yet. Pros Geotab is a very powerful product and platform. The uses and integration seem endless. The userbilty is streamlined and easy pick up. Cons The third party reseller setup usaully means we are trying to be sold something, would be nice if geotab was more involved themselves. Customer service is always ready to help (even for customization stuff). They have a crazy amount of awesome apps to add into your software for fuel stops, mapping/ trip planning, etc.... trust me, you'll have a blast piecing stuff together. You have full control to either turn on/ off, add or deactivate many extra items. Pros This is the best safety complaint Transportation software you will ever use for ELD's, live tracking and so much more... You will Love it!!! ELD Logs are in color and highlighted to display violations for easy viewing. Makes managing your drivers and fleet so easy at a cost that's beats the competitors. Cons No Cons to mention. For tech-savvy teams or smaller fleets, it offers great value, but for our specific needs, Samsara’s simplicity and streamlined UX made it a better fit. Pros Geotab had lower upfront costs compared to our current provider, Samsara, while still offering many comparable features. If you are tech-savvy, it’s a solid, scalable solution – especially for smaller fleets. We never experienced any major issues with the hardware or software, and the GPS tracking was consistently reliable. Cons While Geotab’s core functionality was strong, we found that Samsara delivered a more streamlined and intuitive experience, which proved essential for managing our large fleet of independent contractors. Geotab often required additional setup, third-party plugins, or multiple apps to achieve what Samsara offers out of the box. For example, Samsara combines ELD, DVIR, dispatch, and document submission into a single, easy-to-use driver app, whereas Geotab relied on multiple apps. Geotab’s more modular approach offered flexibility, but lacked the cohesion and simplicity we needed. Its UI was also a bit less intuitive, and felt a bit clunkier and more difficult for our dispatchers and drivers to navigate. It's a bit like comparing Android to Apple: Geotab gives you lots of control and customization, while Samsara delivers a more polished, user-friendly experience right away. For our dispatchers and drivers, that ease of use made a big difference in our day-to-day operations, but your mileage may vary. Once we got past the learning curve, Geotab became a go-to tool for managing our vehicles and improving efficiency. The support team has also been quick to respond when we had questions. It’s made a noticeable difference in how we run our operations. Pros I really liked how easy it was to see everything going on with our fleet in one place. The real-time tracking is super helpful, and the reports gave us great insight into things like fuel usage and driver behavior. It helped us make smarter decisions quickly. Cons The platform can feel a bit overwhelming at first—there are so many features that it takes some time to get used to. Some of the more advanced tools aren’t very intuitive, so we had to spend time learning or asking for help.
