Holacracy-powered organizations
Trello is for teams of all sizes, for the creators and doers, and for those who take dreams to done. Trusted by millions, Trello powers teams all around the world.
It is a great visualisation of the companies structure. The connection between slack and glassfrog is also very nice.
Tensions have to be added in the 'Inbox. This is a confusing name to me and I expect to find this under 'tensions.
The user interface is pretty good, I can access most features through mobile as well, and the folks that support it are responsive.
The inflexibility of the features to tailor the roles— especially if breaking groups down into parts in which there are no secretary, etc.
It's visual presentation is great when done. The real-time feedback are awesome.
Before the new UI revamp it was very difficult to navigate into circles, especially when the organization had a lot.
The use of circles for organizing and prioritizing responsibilities is the best around, if you're a visual thinker like myself.
It is hard to appoint to the right role in the right circle. Bringing your laptop to add sparks is sometimes not the most open setting during meetings.
It can be great for documentation because of the comment structure and meta available for each card. It has some nice integrations with other software, too, like Bit Bucket.
I hate the way that they don't have a customer for Linux. I likewise hate that it's an electronic application that you must be online to utilize.
Overall I use it, I recommend it and I strongly believe you get a great deal for its price. Just try Trello and you will love it.
The task management system is bad and when the project gets to an operational phase, the performance of the team suffers.
Trello is extremely intuitive, fast, and beautiful. It has some of the best UI I have ever had the pleasure of using.
The fact that I cannot erased a card it's quite annoying sometimes. In addition to that, the fact that there is no side scroll with the mouse is a bit annoying as well.
I love how easy it was to just start using this software when compared to other more heavyweight alternatives. If you have a use case for just yourself or a team you will love Trello.
It can be exasperating typing a lengthy comment and losing everything because you exited or minimised the app.
Marnie J.: My name is Marnie. I'm a co-executive director in a nonprofit, and I give GlassFrog five stars. Before we found GlassFrog, my team used Smartsheet, Google Sheets, and Excel to track our roles and accountabilities. But none of those tools are suited to a context where people are using Holacracy to organize their work. My team chose GlassFrog after we had adopted Holacracy and we were looking for a tool that would support us in our practices. We adopted GlassFrog after trying to use other ways of tracking our work, and it vastly exceeded our expectations and really supported all of our ways of working together in Holocracy. When we adopted GlassFrog, it was very intuitive and easy to use. We encountered supportive tech support, and we also found that the publishing of Holocracy habits by HolacracyOne really supported us in using the tool more effectively. I found that for myself and for other team members whose roles were primarily oriented around desk jobs and computer use, it was extremely easy to rely on GlassFrog for much of our day-to-day work. For team members whose roles tend to be more physical, away from their desks, there's less day to day use of GlassFrog, but nonetheless GlassFrog is still a very important part of their work life because it supports them in meetings. And especially in having the wealth facilitated governance and tactical meeting format that is useful for all team members regardless of the nature of our roles. My organization practiced holocracy without the support of GlassFrog for some time before we found this product. And I'm so glad we adopted GlassFrog and started using it in our team. I find that the way we work together is so much smoother and more effective now that we have this tool. If anyone is practicing holacracy without the supportive GlassFrog, I highly recommend adding this product it's well worth the cost and it supports the team and supports the people and the work.
Xavier: Hi, my name is Xavier. I'm the founder of Mixtons, and I would rate Trello a 5 out of 5. So prior to Trello, we were using monday.com, and I found that it was actually too convoluted and too confusing to try and integrate with the team. So Trello, being a simple Kanban, was far easier for our team to understand, and therefore we decided to implement it across the board. We chose Trello, A, because it was free to begin with, which obviously made it much more appealing for us as a team, as a small business. But secondly, just how simple it was. It's probably the simplest of all the platforms. And you do have very simple integrations that you can have. So for us, it just made sense given our size and scale. The biggest perk of Trello is just how simple the whole thing is. A couple of YouTube tutorials can make you easily understand how to set it all up. And given how customizable all the Kanban boards are, you can have different ones for operations, sales, marketing, et cetera. So it was very simple to implement. So the biggest piece of advice I'd have for someone integrating Trello is to make sure that you have each of your pillars of the business set up in different boards, making sure that everything is trackable, but also that if you do have a premium account, which I would recommend, that you utilize the Power-Ups because they can be a little bit hidden, but once you discover them, they're actually very useful.
Prioritize real-user-identified key features according to your needs to find your best fit.
