Manufacturing companies that sell, engineer, and manufacture customer-specific solutions with highly configurable products, such as heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
SketchUp supports creatives of all backgrounds, from woodworkers to film and stage designers. Our primary users are in the architecture, construction, engineering, and interior design sectors.
Very easy to setup the rules and a powerful solver that can handle (almost) every situation we have.
One difficulty could be the integration with the ERP system.
The ease of integrating our products into Elfsquad.
The software is becoming bulky which may discourage people to start with it.
My experience is very positive. It has given us a lot of efficiency.
Rich in configuration options. Project configuration is possible.
The best part of Sketchup is the easy tools that allow a better graphical user interface and flexibility that the tools allow in customizing a 3D design drawings that you have.
It IS possible through uploading and downloading through the 3D Warehouse, but this is a pain and does not work well in cases of bigger projects.).
For my small projects it is an excellent tool for creating 3D models. It is good for beginners and excellent for professionals.
Unfortunately rendering is limited and achieving photo-realism in your drawings is not possible with just SketchUp alone.
Capable of producing quality renderings of interiors and exteriors. Is possible to integrate AR and VR with in the created models ( great advantage ).
It's only used mouse to operate which some time very annoying.
What I like most about the Sketchup is you have the freedom to be creative create anything that you want.
Cons; moving objects can be a little difficult to toggle. It's hard to easily connect different points.
Jan O.: Hi, my name's Jan, I'm a researcher. I give SketchUp a four-out-of-five. For more reviews like this, click below. I use SketchUp for private as well as work purposes. In my private time, I use it to design furniture, which I build, and in work, I use it to develop 3D printing prototypes. I like about SketchUp that it is connected to the SketchUp warehouse, which supports a lot of already existing models that you can use and/or modify. And also, SketchUp is relatively easy to use. I think the templates in SketchUp are not really useful. You can click between architectural and other things like that, but it doesn't really do anything else but changing the metrics. So I think just remove the template feature and then it's perfect.
