Many of the world's fastest growing businesses such as Lyft, Airbnb, and Redfin as well as enterprises such as Samsung, Toyota, and Capital One depend on the scale and performance of DynamoDB.
Enterprise or public sector entity with 500-10,000 employees, with 50-100 weekly users in Product, IT, Engineering, Operations, HR, or Marketing teams.
I like how it provides you quick and easy access to data that you need to query. How it stores data in a way that even users without an IT background can quickly have a grasp into is a great thing.
It's not as flexible as MongoDB when it comes to indexes. Lack of stored procedures as in MongoDB.
The documentation is fantastic and it makes it so easy to get started and creating our proof of concepts.
The query structure seems to be a bit complicated for various fields. The expressions are limited and does not address all business requirements.
DynamoDB is my go-to solution for NoSQL Databases, it is very easy to configure and the documentation is near perfect.
Lots of weird optimization tricks. AWS does not do a good job about letting you know if you accidentally use a reserved word (things just break).
Good performance for general storing and retrieving of key-value pair. Managed version has good scalability from AWS.
Infinitely scalable but very limited for analytics.
Its a great and better alternative than Airtable. Also the fact that there is a self-hosted option, make this really attractive.
Feature parity with competing applications (e.g. Airtable) can create an (somewhat unfair) sense that Baseerow is "missing something.
Easy migration from other applications and the lean and clean interface. The support has been outstanding.
In base row hidden items remain hidden, which makes the entire feature worthless. Also, the controls, are as worthless as airtable, and are not compatible with mobile devices, in imbed / I Frame mode.
I probably like the functionality and having the ability to self host the product is very important to be able to fully customize and align it with the institution's requirement.
There are many basic features missing when compared to Airtable, such as Group By.
I've only used for a couple of months, but have been very pleased overall so far. We were looking for an Airtable replacement tool and this is by far the best we've seen.
One limitation of Baserow.io is its relatively limited advanced functionalities for complex data handling or manipulation.
Prioritize real-user-identified key features according to your needs to find your best fit.
