Software developers and product teams
It's intuitive and it has a lot of features. We use it both to identify vulnerabilities and for code quality, it's impressive for how many things it can scan the code for.
Unfortunately, detecting component dependencies does not work very well for our PHP Symfony projects because of the framework's dependency injection mechanism.
Good product to improve quality for developers and architects.
It tends to forget your preferences you select on overview pages, which makes it a bit annoying when you navigate back and forth.
Great detection, shows files of interest, gives some suggestions to improve.
One downside was that it felt the comparison of maintainability score of new code (on PR) to baseline wasn’t what we expected.
Overall, a great product for keeping your code quality in check with quantifiable metrics.
Customizability of what is measured and how this works with architecture goals is very low. Immediate feedback for developers missing.
If you use Atlassian products like Jira and Confluence or do you a have programming team its the best private repository you can have, The price is amazing compared with other similar solutions.
The only downside I can think of is the scaling costs associated with it for the paid plans. Bitbucket charges per user.
Bitbucket is a great tool for source/version control - it offers great integration with other Atlassian software (like e.g. Jira or Confluence).
In recent months, since the second half of 2020, the service has worsened and there are many more drops and periods of availability.
Bitbucket offers a clean and amazing interface for project management, making the Git experience very easy and beautiful, which we don't find in other products.
In 2020, there were 2 downtimes within a gap of a month. This is the only thing that bothered us about BitBucket.
It works great the integration with Jira is amazing and one of my best parts of it. The rest of the features are pretty standard to git.
I dislike with bit bucket that it is complicated to rollback or delete changes once they are pushed to a repository.
Renato: Hello, I'm Renato and I'm head of engineering. I give Bitbucket a rating of four stars out of five. For more information, click on the link below. Other tools, depending on the environment, let's say. So GitHub for open source products and a Microsoft tool for working with dot net projects. Bitbucket, feature set is pretty much on par with GitHub's, but the pricing model is much more favorable for small and medium team sizes. You can just register an account with an email. You confirm your email and you are ready to go. You can create a company or you can just use your personal handle to upload or create and upload repositories. It's just as simple as that. It's free for teams of up to 10 people. So there's nothing to lose. You create your account, you invite your teammates, you can upload your report and start working with them. You can use Sourcetree or any other client you want to use, even the common line. You upload your code, you create your branches, your PRs, and you work with your team. If you like it, there are more feature on the pro version, or you can just invite more people from your team, if it's made of more than 10 people, and get the base subscription. But it's super easy to get started, and again, if you are up to 10 people, you can use it for free.
