Designed for leadership, tech, and compliance roles, Skillsoft is a cloud-based training solution that supports employee growth by identifying and overcoming critical skill gaps.
Individual music teachers, and studios with multiple teachers, who need affordable, easy to use software, to manage the core aspects of their teaching business.
The support we had with our customer success manager is the best, and she was instrumental in helping us launch and promote the resources.
In the beginning it was a little intimidating learning how to navigate and set up employees.
This product has so many options to offer as it relates to training, compliance. A great LMS tool and the customer service is outstanding.
It is hard to keep the back end organised based on how the system is set up - this makes it very challenging to manage a large employee base. The reporting functionality is very limited.
Flexibility, ability to track your progress, create relevant learning path and nice hands on exercises. Very intuitive and easy to use.
Having to use only a specific browser to operate the product meant that it was difficult for users on different platforms.
I love using skillsoft for training and development and am excited to continue using them.
The courses I have watched were all using flash, so if your device does not support it, that could be a challenge.
I love that it keeps me really organized and have everything in one place. The customer service is outstanding.
Some confusing ways of achieving things, quite roundabout at times. No thought gone into group classes and multiple teachers assigned to groups as is norm in most schools.
As I said, we don't seem to want to use all aspects of this site, but the ones we use I find very good. And especially, if I ask for help, the quality of help is outstanding.
Apart from that I can't think of any feature that i personally am missing, or others could possibly need.
This is a wonderful software program for music teachers. Overall I appreciate the program and customer service is wonderful.
It is expensive for everything it offers and makes access difficult for anyone who is just starting their study will not be able to acquire it.
My Music Staff has really helped me streamline my business. It's so intuitive and easy to use, the interface looks so nice and inviting and my students love it too.
The auto-generated lesson fee feature is a bit confusing for me (showing a balance owed for lessons which haven't occurred) but even more so for the students.
Mike: Hi, my name is Mike. I'm a career advisor. This review is for Skillsoft, which I would rate four out of five stars. For more reviews like this, please click below. Before bringing Skillsoft into our organization, we actually didn't have a formal training and development system in a virtual platform available for our employees and our candidates. So this was basically a revolutionary change for our learning and training and development environment. It was something where we weren't previously capable or understanding of all that a virtual platform would entail, so luckily, Skillsoft made it really easy. The main reason we chose Skillsoft was the library of trainings that were available. We did have employees that spanned all divisions, from technology to accounting, finance, typical business trainings. So having that broad wealth of resources available to us, let us really customize the resources that we were providing our employees for development. So that large library plus the ease of use and setup was definitely the strong selling points of Skillsoft. Getting started with Skillsoft was pretty simple. Relatively intuitive platform, and they have made changes to it over the years, so it's become easier to use as time's gone on. So overall, relatively intuitive, point and click for the most part. Everyone on the back end, within the IT department, said it was relatively easy to get set up within our system and our environment. And the users of Skillsoft have also said that the ease of use of the platform and, really, the ability to train at their leisure is a very open, really interesting, and helpful tool for them. So for someone considering Skillsoft, I would definitely recommend to ensure that there are the trainings and types of videos and topics that you'd be interested in having your employees develop and use. There is a lot on Skillsoft so it's not always the most focused platform, unless you're specifically guiding your employees towards the classes or the trainings that would specifically benefit them in their roles. So I would definitely recommend leveraging Skillsoft, but making sure doing a job analysis for each position to make sure that you're tailoring the specific trainings towards those positions.
Adam: Hi, my name's Adam. I'm a music school director, and I would give My Music Staff a five out of five rating. For more reviews like this, click below. So before I was using my music stuff I was using a mixture of Trello and also a mixture of Google Sheets. And to be honest, I needed a software that could do everything. So organized teachers' timetables, but do some of the accounting and some of the invoicing. And so those really weren't cutting it, and also the timetables were just super messy. And so actually to have a software that had everything all in one was awesome. Another reason and feature I really liked about My Music Staff was the online resources. The fact that we could stick all of our resources and books and all our music material on those places that our students had access to all the time. No more kind of running out of sheet music or homework getting eaten by the dog, we now had a chance to just send digital sheets to our students so they always had access to those resources. So the transition, moving away from what we were using for My Music Staff was pretty simple. There's lots of FAQs on their website that really helped. And they also had really good support staff that could answer questions as and when I had them. So, it was pretty seamless. So yeah, it's great. If you are an independent music teacher or if you are even just a small school like us, I would highly recommend My Music Staff. It's just got all the resources you need in kind of one package, and that's why I love using it. I don't have to use different setups and different programs and different softwares to do the one job that I can do with My Music Staff.
