Mindjet was for years the best mind mapping software out there and they have a solid offering which is very mature on Windows.
In my view, it is extremely arrogant to use the privilege of having software installed to post product adverts. I will never use Mindjet Mindmanager again.
It's quite easy to use, have good features and it's easy to install. I recommend checking it for mind mapping - better then paper.

MindManager is very user friendly and ease of use. The software helps us to find creative and non obvious solutions.
Upon first use MindManager may seem a bit daunting, there are a lot of features to get your head around and some can be hard to use.
The Pro features like Gantt-Chart helps me to use it for Project Implementations. The Walk-through (Presentation Mode) is great for presentation during meetings.
Cannot freely position elements, must use pre-defined layouts. Cloud synchronization is aggravating, often results in conflicts and duplicate documents.
It is easy to use, affordable, and packed with features. If you are looking for a mind mapping software that can help you to improve your productivity and creativity, I highly recommend XMind.
Secondly, XMind has some weird pricing that seems to have change over the years. At one time I found it to be an affordable alternative to other tools such as Mindjet (which is stupidly expensive).
Not having to sift through multiple menus to accomplish these relatively important and repetitive tasks is amazing.
The possible schemes are limited in their complexity, which is a pity because being able to structure thoughts is what XMind is all about.
This is a very friendly and useful tool to build sitemaps and other maps very easy with a beautiful interface.
But often and rather very quickly, these ideas fly away and are forgotten.

At first, we considered Tableau, but it is way more complex than XMind. We started out using the free plan, but we decided to upgrade to Pro pretty quickly because XMind was just the best tool for the job. We chose XMind because it was relatively easy to use, the features were great, and the free edition gave a very good taste of what was to come with the Pro plan. It didn't take long to get the basics with XMind set up. However, as it doesn't feature any third party integrations that we worked with, implementation was relatively easy and done in about two weeks. Things to consider before purchasing XMind could be that you should be absolutely clear about how much collaborative features you know, because XMind isn't very strong on these, and you have to keep in mind that since the cloud version isn't available anymore, as far as I know, the performance is pretty poor at times. However, once you are about to set XMind up, you will see that is a great tool for organizing your ideas with your team.
