Kanaka Pratheek Rao A
Construction manager
4.0

Prateek: Hi, my name is Prateek. I work as an assistant project manager and I give a rating of four out of five for the Autodesk Construction Cloud. For any more reviews, click below, please. When I started working, I used the AutoCAD, which is a two dimensional stuff, but we were having troubles in overlaying and doing stuff. It was only two dimensional and we didn't feel that's the right tool for us to handle the meetings. When I saw this Autodesk Construction Cloud, it has a 3D option where we can basically conduct our meetings and look at the overlaid layouts in a three dimensional thing. So we switched up from a regular AutoCAD, which is a 2D to this Autodesk Construction Cloud, which is very helpful. It can hold a lot of data because the CAD files, with which you have, the DWG files are very large and it has the ability to hold it. And the review time is very quick. It's not like... Generally AutoCAD is slow when you scroll it or zoom it and this one is easily accessible, user-friendly, and it can be reviewed very quickly. So that's the second thing. And the third thing is this can be used on the site by the field management as well, to access exactly and compare it to the onsite location. How it works and how it looks. And they're able to take the dimensions and measurements from this cloud. So this is very helpful for the field teams. So we took this for the field team to coordinate, in a right way, with the subcontractors on site. We started with a project on it. Let's say, I didn't buy the license for everything, but once I started using it on one project, it made a mark off itself because the owners were happy. The clients were happy to use it. And the clients were looking forward to see the actual site conditions based on the layouts here. So it was easy for us to handle meetings with the engineers and the architects and showcase the software. And it was also very helpful for us if there was any discrepancy or a mismatch of the plumbing, electrical, and mechanical. Let's say a duct is overlapping, a regular, no hub. It's clearly shown on the software and it can be there. There can be a possible solution which can be changed directly on there. And that was the one which we liked and everyone were impressed about it. So if you're planning to purchase this, this is the best tool for you to buy, because believe me, I'm using this on a daily coordination. And if you feel that you're working on any high-rise buildings or any building, which has a lot of complicated layouts within the mechanical and plumbing fixtures, this one would be a very helpful tool for you. I believe that investing on this would make your life easier. And if you want to showcase the errors and show the subcontractor or who is working the site, site workers, of how the installation procedures should be through this management. And also you can share it with them and this can help a lot.

Denise L
Director of Finance
3.0

Denise L.: Hi. I'm Denise. I am a director of finance with a small construction company on the Mississippi Coast. I have been using CoConstruct for about seven months, and I give it a three out of five stars. We were using more of an Excel spreadsheet type format before we started with CoConstruct. There are some other trial programs they used prior to my arrival here at the company, and we have since switched from CoConstruct to a different company to do our project management. We chose CoConstruct because it is one of the industry standards. It does help us track the jobs as well as communicate with our clients, keep in touch with our vendors, and it also helps support the project manager in the day-to-day job logs and tasks that needed to be done as well as scheduling. The onboarding process with CoConstruct was a little cumbersome. We had to pay a fee for four different courses with a trainer that was extra in addition to what we were already paying a month and that... If we didn't know what we were doing, it was difficult. We wound up going through courses throughout the months, and we're in month seven. We still haven't touched half of what the capabilities are in CoConstruct. It was a little bit difficult. I recommend you think twice about using CoConstruct at this point. From the company itself, I've been informed that there will be no more future updates to the software. So my concern with that was it integrates with QuickBooks. If QuickBooks has an update or it has something that changes, will it work with CoConstruct? That's definitely something to keep in mind for future users. The other thing is the price point is going up, and compared to other software, I'm not sure that it's worth that same amount.
