Handy Library Manager vs EOS.Web: Which is a better fit?

Our clients love the fact that they can be contacted by email, that they can become a member with a Barcode ( just like the big library in town) and that they feel " looked after.

Therefore, some things that more experienced users would understand were more difficult for us to understand the concept, and thus implement without lots of questions.

Reasonable price, good balance between ease of use and functionality.

Unfortunately our Admin Team has very limited IT experience, and nothing in depth regarding setup etc.

Good value for money with responsive customer care.

Have yet to have in-person meetings, so have not actually used the program "under fire. But thorough testing suggests things will go smootly.

Our staff really like the ability to look up the availability of supplies through the online searchable database.

Association: Lakeview Quilters' Guild in Houston Texas. I was tasked with finding a new library software product that met all of the guild's needs, with limited budget.

Overall I'd say EOS provides superior, reliable products with excellent customer support, for an affordable price.

Corporate documents such as reports are largely in loose format and need digitising for preservation.

Best of all, it is affordable for a smaller library like ours. In several instances they have offered us additional custom programming (for a reasonable price) to fill special needs of our library.

We don't use these as our library is almost entirely digital - and it's a corporate library so my users have no idea what MARC is.

I especially like knowing that I am not responsible for the server, running backups, and installing upgrades. The company obviously cares about each and every customer.

Our library moved away from EOS after a number of years. Customer Service is great, but the software is horrible.

We love unlimited users being able to access the catalog. We love that it is not housed on our servers, thus keeping our small college from the updating expense of and dangers to our server.

No capability to search deleted items by date. In the past there have been glitches in the software where we couldn't remove a patron name or couldn't find all items in the shelf list.
