StarChapter works directly with local chapter leaders, national associations, association management companies (AMC), and other membership-based organizations.
Organizations of any industry and scale looking for an all-in-one tool to support event management and improve the attendee experience at in-person, virtual, or hybrid events.
The features I like best about StarChapter are: ease of administration, swiftness of launch, good value for your money. It's great for smaller associations.
Email deliverability is very bad. Email formatting is difficult to use versus Constant Contact.
The platform is great to use and the setup was fantastic. The team is always there to help with questions.
The options for website customization are quite limited, and the design options are very basic. Some functions also do not work well which can be aggravating.
Customer service is pretty helpful. There is still room for growth for them and I hope they will add features in the future.
I have a long list of complaints about this platform.
It was affordable, easy to use, the initial set-up was simple (StarChapter is a HUGE help and does a great deal of the work), and we've found their support team to be very responsive and helpful.
I didn't find anything that is missing from this software.
Fluency, streaming quality, great ideas for integration and information exchange, I really like it. After a few minutes everything was light and clear in use.
Aggressive email marketing and notifications from the app are a real annoyance. They might be more welcome were the event on site during normal times, but at home during COVID it's maddening.
Whova's team is attentive, always innovating and updating their capabilities, they listen and address concerns quickly and effectively. Our event loved the app and we love the Whova team.
This was a true disaster and the worst possible outcome that we could have for a live event.
I used this software for a conference and it was great. It was perfect for a virtual conference, because there were multiple opportunities for and ways to engage.
We were not aware of these prior to them sending, and it cause a bit of confusion and frustration on our end.
Whova was a great way for all of the attendees, vendors, and coordinators to communicate and have fun during the CCMFOA 2021 Spring Conference.
When you do that, the window closes, so what’s the point of that useless button.
Mary G.: Hi, my name's Mary, I am a director of social media. And I am giving a two star rating for StarChapter today. For more ratings, see below. So I use StarChapter right now for email messaging to our members and to manage our chapter website as well. And we also use it a little bit for managing event registration as well. So the one really nice thing about StarChapter is having everything all in one place. There's one centralized source to have all of your membership, marketing, communications, website, everything at the touch of a finger. The pain points that I'm finding with star chapter is primarily related to ease of use. The system is not intuitive and not designed with the user in mind. There's a lot of training that needs to happen for anyone using the system that's a newbie. And my other pain point is it's not very customizable, especially for email marketing. It does not have any of the drag and drop features. It doesn't have any of the cool tech to make an email really splash or really look cool to the end receiver. It's very basic and just not, I guess, not as elevated as I would like to see.
Jason: Hi, my name is Jason. I am a lieutenant for a police department in Colorado. I give Whova a five out of five. For more reviews like this, please click below. So I was first exposed to Whova about two years ago while attending a pretty large scale conference in another state. And just a couple of months after, I was to help plan and organize another conference here in the state. Whova was very helpful in that it really saved our time and resources, helped with attending networking, and also, it was a huge aid in communication between conference organizers and attendees, exhibitors and attendees. And then, again, as I mentioned, that networking between the attendees themselves. What I like best about Whova is the reliance on the digital, technology, and cellphones. We've really gone away from written agendas, curriculums, and in-person registration. So the Whova app allows you to do all these things over the phone. You can do virtual check-ins. You can facilitate dialogue and discussion with attendees with the app itself. As I mentioned before, I've used Whova for a couple of years, both as a user and then a coordinator administrator, and I really can't think of anything negative to say about the application itself. It really, again, has allowed us to save our time and resources, and devote energy towards interacting with attendees at the conference.
