Rhino 7 is used by business and hobbyist designers, engineers, and animators, as well as schools and online learners. This design software can be used by artists, consultancies, and inventors, too.
3D CAD, CAM, and CAE professionals who are working in a hybrid environment.
The best of Rhino are: 3D complex modeling is good, is amazing with grasshopper (parametric modeling) and work well with v ray (render).
Rhino 6 gives errors when drawing. It is also difficult to make changes to the model due to a lack of construction history.
This is a terrific drawing/modeling program. Potential of this software is actually limitless with the availability of great tools and customization.
There are still frustrations with occasional failed procedures. E.g., boolean operations, chamfers and fillets, etc.).
Overall Rhino gets the job done and it good quality. Well worth the money to be able to produce clean renderings.
Difficult to change and modificate textures on models.
The nurbs modeling tool helps in better designing of complex models. The 3D visualization and rendering offered are great for design discussions to final model presentation and 3D printing.
It is relatively limited compared to 3ds Max or other similar softwares in terms of material library or add-on scripts.
Customer service is fantastic and very prompt. They do a very good job of making sure that you are integrating to exactly your needs.
I don't like the rendering, I always export to Keyshot. I suppose I also dislike the sculpt feature, it can be frustrating to work with.
Fusion 360 is a fantastic project management application that caters to 3D printing customers online. It's an excellent modeling tool that's required for a successful 3D printable design.
Some functionality changes and when you are in the middle of a project and your workflow changes, it is a little annoying.
I love the fact that Autodesk provides this program for FREE for students. I have a Mac and I used to have to use Solidworks on my school computers, so I was super happy to find Fusion 360 for free.
Trying to specify dimensions can be a bit of a pain sometimes, and if its your first time it definitely takes time getting used to.
Fusion 360, I believe, is the best tool in its price range for 3D modeling. It is very affordable, and for the price, very powerful.
What i mean by everything i mean EVERYTHING. You dont have any privacy or any probability to work offline.
Yasmine E.: I'm Yasmine, a naval architect. My company is 20 people and I'm here to rate Rhino Seven as five stars. I use Rhino on a daily basis for 3D modeling for already existing ship plans. What I like about Rhino is the 3D modeling features that it provides and how this is compared to other softwares in the market. I can find it the best 3D modeling in my field, software around. Sometimes I don't find it easy to import data and export data from the application, so this is the feature that I think that could do better with some improvement.
Brock: Hi, I'm Brock. I'm the vice president of marketing at StewMac. We are the world's largest supplier of parts and tools to people who make and repair guitars, and I give Fusion 360, a five star review because it has been an absolute dream for us to work with. Prior to using Fusion 360, we used a range of things. We used Vetric VCarve Pro, we used Vetric Aspire, we used Rhino, we used SolidWorks. I think the thing that we really loved about Fusion 360 was it had all the power of the big, complicated, expensive programs like SolidWorks, but it was at a much lower price point and it was much more accessible. It can do everything we needed to do and more. Another reason that we chose it was because it has a huge install base, so there's lots of information online, there's lots of videos, there's lots of forums and help groups, as well as there's a lot of people out there that we can continue to work with. So, if we needed to work with freelancers or bring somebody in to help us with the CAT or the cam, no problem. There's a ton of people out there using it, and that was another really big reason why it has been so effective for us. When we were getting started, I would say that the folks who had prior experience with Rhino or SolidWorks or one of the other bigger 3D programs had no problem. They were up and running immediately. The folks that were coming in and starting from scratch, there was a bit of a learning curve, but it wasn't too bad. Usually after about a week-ish or so of learning the program that they were in there and they were doing productive work with it pretty quickly. I would say if you are considering Fusion 360 versus programs like Rhino or SolidWorks or anything like that, this is the way to go. It has a ton of power. It has an immense amount of folks out there that know what they're doing. There's a huge base of knowledge online to learn from. It's great, like I said, I can't overstate how much we love it for that. For folks who are just getting started, I think you should be prepared to make an investment in time to learn it, but it's absolutely accessible. It's a relatively easy program to learn, but it's a complicated program and there's a lot to it, but if you invest the time, it'll no problem. You'll get it down quickly.
