OnBase has industry-specific solutions for higher education, insurance, financial services, government, healthcare and commercial industries but offers solutions for organizations in every industry.
Box provides workplace solutions for every industry and business size, from SMBs to global enterprises.
We use this for much of our document storage needs. In our industry, document storage is very important and as such it is good to have a reliable , industry standard product.
Numerous issues with sustaining sessions and maintaining connectivity. Furthermore, the error messaging is atrocious.
The best of similar document management products. Amazing support and gave us the flexibility for storing and searching of documents that we required.
Outdated software such as enterprise software may cause the communication or interfacing of OnBase to fail. Thus file syncing may be affected due to the lag in progressive updates.
I love how this allows you to seamlessly upload documents to this software and easily categorize where to store for easy navigation and search at a later time.
When I am importing documents, I am not able to drag and drop multiple files at a time. If I have 10 files to import, then I have to do 10 separate imports for each.
This software is easy to use and fairly user friendly. I like that the software seems to be very literal.
There's also no easy way to build upon old forms so you're stuck having to reinvent the wheel each time you may have a subtle difference or different process/user flow for an updated form.
Users are able to simultaneously edit a document at the same time and also it's accessible from any location. Customer support has been amazing and their pricing is very fair.
The Search functionality is so bad (doesn't work the way you think it should and rarely generates the results you're after) as to be almost useless.
I love that you can basically store an unlimited amount of data and share it with anyone who has the link. It makes sharing documents very easy and accessible from any internet accessible device.
At the current price point (charged per user), it's a bit on the more expensive side. The functionalities on the admin console is a bit hard to navigate.
But what makes Box the best, are all the features that they layer on top of that. Collaboration, sync, edit, Office integration, great mobile apps, policies, preview, workflows, automations, and more.
The worst thing about the Box that I have found is that when you first open it, all the files that are on it takes a little bit of time to load.
As positive points I can say that Box is a complete cloud backup software with high reliability and security. It has an excellent friendly graphical interface for organizing files in the cloud.
If you don't know what "folder" a document is in - or even its exact document name, the search tool can be very difficult, and almost useless.
Svetlana: Hi, my name is Svetlana. I'm the executive director at the Children's Guardian Fund, and I gave Box 5-star rating. I used Dropbox but it wasn't working out because we needed something a little more robust for our organization as we were growing. I ended up using/choosing Box because they were very cost-effective for a not-for-profit organization our size, and they offered a lot of the features that we were looking for. It only took a couple of hours to learn the system and onboard with Box. We were able to get all of our users login information very quickly. And once we got all the plugins on everybody's laptops, it's been very easy and streamlined ever since. If you're looking for something to streamline your data and have it accessible on different devices, I would highly recommend Box because they check all the boxes.
Prioritize real-user-identified key features according to your needs to find your best fit.
