Project managers, QA managers, business analysts and software testers who need an integrated requirements, test and defect management system to manage the end to end software testing & QA lifecycle.
Devs, QAs, SMEs and PMs in cross-functional development teams, who want to implement and scale test automation without multiple tools and maintenance costs.
The tracking of progress is nice and ability to create incidents from a specific test steps helps a lot. All the different types of reports that are available to generate are also quite nice.
No documentation to reports customization. Poor response time when the DB starts to get loaded - the client performance is poor while the srever resources are hardely consumed.
Fantastic ease of use once you get used to the workflow paradigm (change status, verify newly required fields, then update). Traceability: We love how all project components can be linked together.
Keep me logged in" doesn't work (sometimes changes are lost). Sometimes the lists aren't displayed correctly (then after selecting "Show Level 1" it works again, but it's annoying).
The support team has been excellent. I really appreciate their prompt, courteous responses.
No way to opt-out of emails, which is illegal in the U.S.
I would reccomend everyone to use it - its easy and powerful. Just a very perfect price/functionality approach.
Clone a test case and keep the requirements on the test steps (currently they're lost).
Good for automating repetitive tests (smoke&sanity tests). Good for automating processes that does not require too much configuration or dynamism.
Inability to link test suites so that when one ends, the next is kicked off. There is a workaround for this, but it requires multiple parallel user accounts.
We are happy with their quality of services and will definitely continue to use your tool.
Sometimes it was hard to get consistency in our Test Cases, some due to the product not being able to accurately identify an element and some due to our own complex DOM.
Support team are outstanding. We even got interviewed to give feedback on Pro's and Con's and felt we had influence over the Roadmap so as to get our needs met.
Reports could be clearer. Lack of full-page screenshot in some browsers but possible with custom function.
Good project management. Responsive customer suport.
I made tests after I watched a 5minute guide video with no experience in testing what so ever and it took about 45minutes to make six tests cases for out dev ops pipeline.
Speaker 1: Hi, my name is Val. I'm a senior software quality assurance analyst, and I give SpiraTest a five. For more reviews, click the link below. We use it daily to track test cases and incidents or defects for our production software. We also use another software for legacy products, but this is a new configuration now, we're moving to cloud-based solutions so SpiraTest works perfectly for us. SpiraTest is different from other similar software packages or applications because what I like about it is that it has tracking mechanisms that would log any little change that you make. May be too much information but in the long run, if we need to track who made this change or that change and what they did and the progress of an incident or test case, it's easily found in the logs. Another plus is that a test case or a test plan or a incident could be easily graphed in reports and exported in a variety of formats, including Word, Excel, TXT, XML, and PDF, and also CSV. Those are the major pluses for this application besides it being easy to use and easy to teach a person to use. My company also has another software application that we use to track defects for our legacy program. And the main issue we have right now, it's not that bad, but in the future we'd like to see a plugin that would allow us to talk to this other software. Right now there's no plugin for that. So in order to import the cases or defects from the legacy program, it's a roundabout way. There's no direct plugin that you could actually run a script to import those cases into SpiraTest. So I made my opinion known to the SpiraTest reps and they told me they're working on it. Hopefully we'll see that in the future, and with that, it would make this product stronger and more valuable in the ISO management.
