Buildertrend is ideal for home builders, remodelers and specialty contractors.
Beta version is impressive and when we received a demonstration at the IRE, we were really excited with the capabilities.
We are working through these limitations, but I am disappointed that it is not the functioning software that we were sold on.
The interaction between desk top and mobile versions is seamless, homeowner's page feature is a great communication tool, friendly representatives and fair cost.
The reporting is not accurate and I have sent in several emails calls complaints etc. with no responses on the status.
I'm very pleased with the software, as never having experience with competitive software in the past. I have a lot of corporate experience and this was a seamless transition for me.
Uploading photos is a time killing headache as well.
I started using this software at the beginning of the year and I found it amazing how quickly I picked it up. The best part to me is the ability to keep customers in the loop.
Dose not work the way they said it would and we got charged additional money for an adjustment.
We have had a great experience overall. The software works great, there is little to no downtime, and the customer service team has always been prompt and nice.
I send hundreds of messages, and the fact that there is no alert on Buildertrend itself to show new messages is sometimes frustrating.
The implementation was simple, customer support over the phone was outstanding, the online training was perfect, and we were quickly up and running.
The worst part would be the cost/benefit factor - specifically as it pertained to our company. When we changed to do smaller projects ($5K-$20K) the value decreased because we had to pay per project.
I love how everything about the building process is in this one spot. Very user friendly, and Buildertrend is very interested to hear on how they can improve.
The dreadful lack of functionality for estimating. What used to take 5-6 hours to produce an estimate with all the separate costing items clients want, now takes 2 days.
Price point is good and customer service was outstanding. The 60 day trial was a HUGE plus.
My only complaint is not so much with the software itself as it is with back end users. For this software to work to its full potential it needs to be fully utilized.
Nik M.: Hi, my name is Nik and I'm a project manager estimator for a paint company and I would rate JobProgress with a five out of five. We use JobProgress on a daily basis by creating estimates, helping with our scheduling, creating invoices, and just overall workflow to make sure we know where a project is so nothing is missed and that the customer is satisfied from start to finish. What I really like about JobProgress, first of all, is that it's got an app capability. We're out in the field a lot, so our estimators need to be able to access it at any time. I also like the ease of use. It was very easy when we got it, to start setting up and start customizing it to our own workflows and kind of how our processes are and then we're agile with it. We're able to quickly maneuver things or change on the fly; materialists, labor costs, things like that. So we're able to do a lot more functions in a day than we were in the past. Yeah. The only thing we really asked to be improved with the software would be reporting. Just being able to go in there and maybe customize how we'd like it to output what we need and ultimately coming out in the Excel spreadsheet.
Dave: Hi, my name's Dave. I'm the founder and principal at Watermark Business Partners. And with respect to BuilderTrend, I was sort of an administrator and user when advising a custom home builder through a transition. And our rating of five stars, or my rating of five stars, is largely based on the fact that I think this tool just has absolutely phenomenal capabilities. And I just wish the business that I was working with was making even more use of everything that's there because it's absolutely very, very strong and incredible potential. So BuilderTrend, the core need that I was solving with this business was the need to organize complex fulfillment with anywhere from 20 to 30 different subcontractors, milestone based billing, the need to organize and coordinate a complex supply chain on the product, so vendor sourcing side. And this was a solution that was badly, badly needed for this business. It's already had a big impact and I think there's even more to come. [inaudible 00:01:05] I think is perhaps overlooked and unappreciated as a really key, important value add that was a new beginning with BuilderTrend's launch for this business was the far superior and enhanced degree of accountability in the business. Whether that be with employees, with contractors, or the business itself to its customers. The ability to get everybody on the same page and have that same unified line of sight had a really big impact and drove results in a meaningful way. So as far as what I liked the least or saw as an area of opportunity was just honestly that there's so much there. I think there was a need for the business that I was working with to really prioritize for the greatest impact because as I said previously, there were really only scratching the surface with the platform's capabilities. And I think there's sometimes the potential to get lost in the weeds and lose the forest for the trees. So if anything they can do to help whittle it down to the core components and stage that implementation I think would be very, very helpful.
