It reminds me of a Microsoft Word document that someone turned into "software. Very limited in what it can do and very aged.
Customizability is amazing allowing me to be able to customize for different needs. Customer Service is also amazing and frequently look to improve their software.
The learning curve can be steep. I did have a hard time initially.

Dan N.: Hi, my name is Dan. I'm a certified home inspector. I'm giving Home Inspector Pro a four out of five review. Click below for more reviews. We were basically going old school using sheets, marking stuff down on paper. Obviously that's kind of outdated. Then you'd have to kind of go back and write up your whole report on the computer and add in pictures that you take on a separate camera. And yeah, that just... Old school thinking. Obviously we needed to kind of get with the program. So as soon as I actually was up and running, we jumped in with HIP, and it's been the only software I've used since. I'm with A Buyer's Choice Home Inspections, and it's a large franchise in North America, as well as internationally, but that is kind of the go-to software that they use. We don't have to use it, but they recommended it. I stepped into it, and, like I said, I've had no reason to want to change since. Home Inspector Pro is fairly intuitive. Of course, when you're doing an inspection, you've got multiple categories with multiple segments. You've got categories within categories, within categories. So it was fairly intuitive as far as working it, but of course it took some time to learn where everything was and where you've got to go for any specific category or section, or comment. Now, having said that, after you've used it for a while, for a few times, it becomes quite intuitive. I find myself actually doing the report and putting it in without even really directly thinking about what I'm doing, which is obviously kind of what you want. You can just flow right through it. You get a pattern down and it really works for me now. If you're considering getting it, I know that you can just download a free trial and you can use it as much as you want. But you can't upload anything from it, so obviously you can't use the reports you're making with it, but you can play with it as much as you want and see if it's what you like. And of course I was playing with it while I was in training and learning what to do with it, so by the time I went live, I was pretty fluent.
