The analytics is my favorite addition; while some dashboard tools exist in Raiser's Edge, in NXT they are fully thought out and allow for excellent reporting and visual depictions of our progress.
Then, look at the price of the database and maintenance packages. Price alone is deceiving.
I am most excited about their new product launching July 1, 2015 called RE NXT. This is a cloud based application which will be a great asset to any non-profit focused on major and principal gifts.
It seems odd to add someone into your record base that is deceased and there is a cap on the number of constituents you can have in the database without having to pay more.
I love the reporting capabilities, and also all the additional modules you can use to get a 360° view of your donors. I also love the plug-ins that help you integrate RE with other systems.
Very disappointed as it is difficult to use and way too expensive.
The ease of accessing and downloading information is superior to database view and the prospect and donor management functions are fantastic for fundraisers.
Unimpressed with event modules; hard to integrate with Sphere. Not the most user-friendly system, especially for running reports.
Excellent event registration and membership management at a price that can't be equaled. Best of all, it works in and with our client's websites.
It was hard to upgrade if too many releases went by since you were supposed to do one at a time. I almost had a database disaster during one of the updates and lost a couple days to recover the data.
CiviCase brings case management into to application and CiviVolunteer helps you keep track of the eager beavers who want to help your cause.
I have had some trouble using the scheduled mailings feature. Once the mailing didn't go out at all.
I loved how expansive the system was. I liked that I could use it as both a record of donors and donations etc. and as a way to process and track payments/money received.
That said, a person who understands the database can bypass the worst of it -- however, we could do this, and the closest competing product priced itself out of our reach by an excessive import fee.
The community is fairly responsive and keeps an active release cycle as well as an extension community which build meaningful extensions to functionality.
It's built on soon-to-be deprecated software, so investing in its deployment might be a little risky.
Josh: My name is Josh. I am the founder and CEO, and I give Blackbaud NXT three out of five stars. For more reviews like this click below. Before using Blackbaud, the organization was using spreadsheets to keep track of the data, and this wasn't a very good use of time. They moved to Blackbaud for a robust fundraising platform. The reasons that this software was chosen was because it was the industry leader at the time it was chosen, that it offers a very robust fundraising platform, and that it offers a wide variety of features for the users to follow up with their clients and also to track donations of all different amounts and types. Because of how robust Blackbaud is, it is a harder one to integrate into the business and a harder one to implement, just because of the robust nature and the amount of fields and data that can be transported over to Blackbaud. [inaudible 00:01:04] one else who's in the market for a donation management system, I highly recommend looking at all the different options. Even though Blackbaud might be the premier leader, it's not meant for organizations of all sizes, especially for smaller organizations that can sometimes don't need all the robust features that big organizations do. There have come on the market, since that decision was made, a lot of players that we wish we would have been able to consider at the time. Just looking at price and looking at the feature comparison and where people see their organization growing within the next three years.
