Customer support and technical help is outstanding. Their are many videos and tutorials but if you still need help, they answer your questions very quickly and thoroughly.
Sometimes it is difficult to navigate, but you just have to get used to it. Also continually have to upgrade or delete archived volunteers with set limits on how many volunteers you can have entered.
Volunteers can actually schedule themselves so that I don't have to manage it. Configuring was easy, using it is pretty intuitive, and the email customer support is fabulous.
The only downside for me is that this program can be taxing when you are fist learning to use it. Sometimes it can be hard to figure out how to do something specific in the program.
My overall experience is very good. I appreciate the versatility in customizing data gathered and the reportability of the data.
This software can prove very difficult to set up, especially if you do not need to track nearly everything that is possible in the platform. It can seem daunting and overwhelming.
Throughout our implementation and now support and maintenance Volgistics has been wonderful.
Since I don't understand the configuration of the database it is sometimes difficult to figure out which report I need to run. It has taken a lot of my time and sometimes the numbers don't make sense.

Speaker 1: My name is Nusrat, I am a volunteer manager. I've worked at a nonprofit aquarium at a university, size of about 200 employees part-time and full-time, and I would rate Volgistics at a five, five out five. Before I arrived at the workplace where I was for almost 13 years, we had been using a paper system for record keeping, and sign in, and scheduling, as well as spreadsheets, and it just wasn't doing a comprehensive job of keeping track of the volunteer program as a whole, and there was a clear need for a system that would provide that support. In the industry of like institutions, aquariums, and museums, there are a lot of other places that use the system and I'm sure there was a process of serving others, peers, in the community and nationally across the board to see what other people were using, and it has definitely been a system that's been around and it's trusted so that was the reason for us to choose it. Starting any new system is going to have its growing pains. The major hurdles and barriers are just that initial data input, which I frankly see as a potential volunteer opportunity in itself. But once that hurdle is overcome, really the only unique situation I came across when I first was exposed to logistics was that there was one single volunteer among about 500 to 600 people who did not have an email address. And of course, that was a situation where we wanted to support the volunteer, obviously not exclude them, so we did more hands-on support with that one individual. Apart from that, really it was just the heavy lift at the beginning of inputting all the user information and getting it started. And after that, it just basically takes care of itself. I have no complaints whatsoever about Volgistics. I've always had the most seamless, easy, and productive experience. I would say if you were just starting off using Volgistics, something to think about is planning out your framework for how you want to divide up the volunteer roles, they're called assignments in Volgistics, and just kind of being thoughtful about how you set it up from the start. It's very much oriented to self-service, so once volunteers have access to the system, they have a lot of autonomy in terms of scheduling based on what you allow them, but I would give a lot of thought to how you set that initial system up and the schedule up so that once you have that framework ready to go, you have a really good foundation for building out everything else.
