Toast is designed exclusively for foodservice. While other POS systems are split up between industries, Toast has always been focused on addressing the specific challenges of foodservice providers.

It has tremendously improved efficiency and flow of our Taproom. We now have the ability to swipe a card and store credit card information; which is a huge benefit for those of us in co-op spaces.
I have gone from recommending TOAST to experiencing extreme frustration w/ terrible customer service.
I love how robust it is. The search bar feature at the top makes it easy to find what you are looking for in a platform that is really encompassing of any of our retail and restaurant POS needs.
Their technical support is AWFUL. Every time we have a major support issue- now only does it take them DAYS to respond via email, but they almost always find a way to deflect the blame.
This software is robust and packed with very helpful features. Compared to other popular software packages, it is very reasonably priced.
The most thing that brings negative emotions is soft update, there is no any notifications about coming update at all.
I love how easy it is to use and navigate. The set up is easy and the system is fast and effective.
They have a week’s worth of our money and yet have the audacity and utter bad judgement to drain our bank account for payroll. Why not use OUR money that you have already imprisoned.
Overall, for a business just starting out, it was a great solution and your tech support was always really amazing.
Support is expensive and required which was a terrible point. So terrible, in fact, that I will never recommend this software to any other company I represent again.
This app is fantastic to support your restaurant sales and also will provide great visibility with its dashboard/reporting engine.
You will PAY MORE for PointOS Profesional than their competitors once you figure in the losses, stain to your business reputation and sheer aggravation you will endure with this company.
Great valley with the money your spending. M so glad i end up with this awesome system.
Horrible system, terrible support, an utter waste of money and a complete disappointment.
The credit card processing company is top shelf; helpful and pleasant to work with.
I purchased PointOS Professional for the lower price tag and quicker turn-around time and it was the worst mistake I have ever made.
Julia: Hi, my name is Julia. I am the owner of Kin Southern Table and Bar located in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. We are a full-service restaurant offering Southern comfort food or what we like to call soul food. And out of five stars, I would give Toast a four. Prior to Toast, we did not have anything, any sort of software. We opened our restaurant in 2021 during the pandemic and Toast was our first option, and we've kept it since we've opened. I ended up choosing Toast because the great price point for the monthly services. I thought it was great because it was customizable. We were able to expand and add additional items onto our program, like gift cards. We've expanded to delivery service and I thought that as our business grew, that would be really important to us. I think the onboarding process was really easy for us. We had a lot of support, whether it was through Zoom calls or just onsite and our initial salesperson. We definitely felt like we had a team working with us to make sure that we were able to get up and running in time for our opening day. If anyone is considering Toast out there, I definitely recommend doing some research, speak with other restaurateurs and see what they also love about Toast. I know for me the biggest selling point was just how easy it was. It's a very intuitive program. It's super customizable. Like we said, we were able to enhance our initial product and we've added on so many different things that help make our day-to-day operations easy. But definitely do some research.
Angela A.: Hi. My name is Angela, owner of a bar, and I would give PointOS XE a two out of five stars. For more reviews like this, click below. Prior to using PointOS XE, I was with PointOS Professionals. Before that, I didn't have a PointOS system, I was using an old-school cash register. After deciding that I needed to leave PointOS due to ongoing issues, I looked at Revel PointOS and Lightspeed, as well as Square App. The reasons I chose PointOS for the bar were because of the price matching my needs, it was fairly low price and inexpensive. The features met what I needed at the time, and they had an offline mode that should be able to function when my internet was down. Onboarding with PointOS was fairly easy. I had had PointOS Professionals before, which was also fairly easy to onboard with, at setting up the menu. Didn't really have many issues with the onboarding, my issues came in later on. My recommendations to people using PointOS for their business would be that the offline aspect of PointOS does not work very well. I had consistent and constant issues with internet connection and it being in offline mode. When my internet was out, it would not work a majority of the time, and there was many bugs or fixes if they put out a new version. There would be mistakes or things taken off, unintentionally not working, and they would have to revert me back, fix the version. It was just constant being in flux of changes and fixes.
