Our target market is Ophthalmology practices however we also serve Optical shops and billing consultants as well. We would not want to sell to an optometry office that doesn't have any MDs.
The doctors were pleased with how customizable all of the features were, and the front desk/billing department were happy with how seamless having the cloud based system was.
The billing portion of the software can be a little confusing. You can make errors because of the layout.
They were very helpful in the start up, yes this software is very customizable, in fact you have to create all of your forms and they did help with the process.
This system would constantly freeze and crash. I would often times lose my work and have been unable to retrieve it.

The clinical aspect of the ophthalmology-specific software was good to very good, and the product also incorporates patient scheduling and some billing functionality.
Worse than that the company was barely able to offer support and management, it was also arrogant and unresponsive. They seemed to know that they had you and that was it.

The are no more files to pull or lose. The system automatically bills for services as they are charted, so there are no lost charges.
The support team and training are the best. This is the most user-friendly software I have ever had the opportunity to use.
The software updates are very poorly rolled out. There is no communication about what they are taking away and what they are adding.
We have been working with management of KeyChart since 1989, back in the days of PRISM Data Systems. They are wonderful reliable people.
Every time they perform an update, whether it's designed to address Meaningful Use or fix a known problem, the software's performance suffers in the most negative and impacting ways.
