Statgraphics is used in quality assurance/control, medical clinical testing, manufacturing production, oil, gas and mining exploration, scholarly research, Fortune 500 companies and aerospace (NASA).
Aimed at researchers in clinical, medical, manufacturing, and engineering fields.
The software tutorials are very good, showing clearly how to set up an analyses and how to interpret it. The backup stat tutorials, explaining the statistics, are excellent as well.
Occasionally, one of my files will get corrupted somehow and cause the program to crash every time the corrupted file is opened.
The dynamic linking of the data to the graphical reports is very nice. The ability to see the impact of new data on existing reports is a great feature.
In the last 5 years I've had many support requests or questions get completely ignored. Very disappointing to a long time user.
Statgraphics is a very good statistical program package. The functionality of Statgraphics is so rich that it is not easy to cover or use every one within a short time period.
Somewhat clumsy performance when all five of us are hitting it hard. At some times, the program seems to get narcoleptic or confused presenting incorrect output.
Very good teaching materials are available of the user. Statgraphics provided well designed free courses to help users understanding how to solve certain statistical problems regularly.
I have tried to use it many times with large Excel data files of around 1 GB but it has always been a failure and unable to manage this amount of data (big data !!).
I highly recommend them to any medical device or Pharma companies or any company that wishes to get excellent statistical information from their data. Lastly, the price is great.
If one wants to customize the output format, associated for example to the titles of the axes of a graph, they are lost if one does a recalculation.
It has a user-friendly interface and a helpful Statistical Reference Guide. I like the fact that it integrates seamlessly with Excel.
Customizing the output as, for example, formatting graph axes or relabeling titles are lost upon recalculation. The same goes for custom graphs based on the tabular output.
Last but not least : price is excellent for the amount of services. Support help to find the least expensive solution, if any, to spare unuseless renewal.
That can be a problem when several analyses are based on the same data set and new data is added.
My analyses are available immediately without waiting for other departments. It is powerful enough so I can "play with the data", which helps me to truly understand the results.
Analyse-it comprises so many possibilities that sometimes it is hard to choose.
Roger: My name is Roger. I'm a retired air quality analyst. I worked for a large, over a thousand people company and we use Statgraphics and I rate it a five. Before Statgraphics, we were trying to analyze air quality data using spreadsheets and it just didn't work. Statgraphics gave me the ability to do reproducible data quality analysis. We would take in data from our continuous submission monitoring systems and process it to find any outliers and any changes in the data quality. And that was just... It really worked well for that option. Statgraphics took a little bit of getting used to, but once you had a little bit of training, and eventually we had other people besides me using it, it worked really well. So it's not hard to learn. I highly recommend Statgraphics because it gives you all sorts of options to do statistical analysis. And for someone like me who took statistics in college decades ago, it also offers a stat advisor that explains what you're getting with the analysis, and that is so useful. I can't over recommend this product.
