It has been great with little configuration. Though with a lot of configuration its is perfect.
The only complaint I have is that there are too many features and I have issues finding what I'm looking for sometimes.
It is a very user friendly and lightweight software and does not put load on the system however it is best suited for small businesses where number of monitoring nodes are less than 100.
The interface can be confusing at times due to the number of features.
Customization can be done according to our requirement and the Application Provides a wealth of information and great dashboard with drill-down competence.
Since being a long time customer we really miss the admin console.
I quickly get alerted when things go down and when other things hit thresholds. This has been an awesome addition to my arsenal and saved me on more than one occassion.
Navigating through the Web interface is little difficult as it has many options and you need to drill down to get to the information you need.
I can consider it the best NPM software out there, it is suitable for types of organizations starting with small till large & very large, I have been using it for more than 4 years & i'm satisfied.
Even a small company needs this software but its hard to justify. The way they count nodes against your license total is in my opinion unfair.
It is a really clean solution that was easy to install and use. It is aesthetically appealing and I can better visualize my own network.
Its IPAM solution has a Read only API, meaning you can't modify records with your existing automation. Worse yet, they have no plans to fix it.
Great tool who are interested in Computer Networking and want to explore the background of any network as well as will be aware of it.
What they do not tell you that by doing a non customized quick roll out you will receive unlimited number of alerts to the point they will be ignored.
The details that it provides are huge and so many little intricate details to monitor and take care about. Gives peace of mind once installed properly for sure.
Sometimes the user interface seems less than intuitive and can be a little confusing.
Springman: Hi, my name is Springman. I work in an architecture engineering firm. I am a network operations manager. I give WhatsUp Gold five-stars. We used to use SolarWinds. That's a famous network monitoring software. The issue is that it's every product, every device, every service that you monitor from SolarWinds, they charge you. They charge you, charge you, charge you every penny, that at the end, the price go up very, very high. The reason for choosing WhatsUp Gold is easy. It's much, much, much affordable. With the same price, in the past, we can monitor only a hundred device. Now, with WhatsUp Gold, we can pretty much it there's no limit and you can monitor over a thousand device with the same price, and the reason being that when we use SolarWinds, in every single service or IP address we monitor, they consider a note, then they will charge you. But with WhatsUp Gold, they only count one IP address as a note, and any service inside the IP address, inside a server, is same charge. They do not charge an extra. So in the end, we can monitor almost everything we want in our network without extra cost. Speaking of the onboarding service, WhatsUp Gold, is it a product out of box you can use? Yes. But is it the product that you can use to the degree you want? Because every company is different. Every network is different and is that out-of-the-box service to the degree I want for my network, the way I want for the alert? No, definitely not. But their onboarding service is so fantastic. They can pretty customize everything on the WhatsUp Gold to if there is alert, how it's going to alert me on the escalation level. And if there is network saturation, how did I get an alert? And if I want to monitor also, and some switch specific network pole, that is usually pretty tricky, but their onboarding technician can help you customize almost, almost everything in WhatsUp Gold. The one thing that WhatsUp Gold is special is, it's very flexible. Very flexible, it's limitation, just your creativity. On pretty much anything you want, the technician can help you to customize it to what you want. The onboarding process is maybe it's like a month. It started with, maybe three days, let you get pretty much your work done. Then, you run through it for a week. See how it goes. Then, we have another meeting and tweak it, customize it, and after a month or two, and the product is, this is a product that we order for us. If you are considering WhatsUp Gold, you are doing research, you are in the market, and my recommendation for you is WhatsUp Gold, no doubt. First, the price and the price point, the competitor, usually raise the price very high after you get to certain point of note or devices. Secondly, is how flexible is it for you to customize the software to the way you want. A lot of part-time now is modularized for them, but not for you. Last but not least, I didn't mention yet the support. When you call them for the support, you always get a tier one support, right with the technician all the way through the case. WhatsUp Gold is the way to go.
