Application-Specific Standard Product (ASSP)
An application-specific standard product (ASSP) is a type of integrated circuit. ASSPs are programmed for a specific use and sold as part of a specific device or component. ASSPs are commonly used in a variety of devices that heavily rely on computerized chips, such as cars, cameras, and computers. ASSPs can be mass-produced and are usually critical components of the device in question.
