Augmented Reality (AR)

Augmented reality, or AR, is the projection of computer-generated visual and audio elements onto the physical world. It differs from virtual reality because it takes place within real-life scenarios. Virtual reality, on the other hand, is a computer-created space in which a user can interact as if it’s real. AR includes real-world objects and is used to create a tangible experience for the user. Apps, headsets, and special glasses are typically used to experience AR.

What Small and Midsize Businesses Need to Know About Augmented Reality (AR)

AR is, in general, expensive, with large-scale use limited to large corporations. But some industries, especially, retail, are catching up. Furniture companies, use the technology for customers to evaluate furniture in their homes. SMBs may soon benefit from affordable AR applications such as 3D modeling and design. SMB development teams can evaluate options such as Google’s ARCore, Apple’s ARKit, Holition, and others for potential strategies.
